Enjoy. As much as this might appeal to me...I will have to pass.

I'm hoping for a different date in a warmer climate myself.

Though given the "note" about it...I may seriously have to reconsider....sigh...

I would love to go. Where better to be in April than...New Jersey? If it were Atlanta, well maybe. In all seriousness, doesn't seem feasible at the time. Probably only get one Road Trip, want it to be a tad closer.

I would take a year off my life to see Dennis, Glen, and Rik. The night they play together we have a district baseball game. I know what I sure as hell want to do.

Rip me all you want, but outside of Dennis Glen is twice as good as any other member Styx has ever had. He blows Tommy sooo far off the map its bowling alley time. Dennis said this back in 91,' how great Glen is and how incredible the current rendition of Styx is' Edge of th Century Styx' and it was NOT hype.

I am soooooooo pumped Dennis and Glen are back together. Its great people can forgive!! Someone, PLEEEAAASSE boot this concert for me.

I sooo want to do what I did back in high school and skip my game to attend this event.

Damn, I hate being a responsible adult. It sucks!!!!

Finally, Rik freaking Triumph Emmett. How awesome!!! I saw Triumph twice back in the day. I have also seen him solo. AWESOME!!!

Styx who???????

I guess this puts you down in the "yes, I like this idea" category, Yogi? It really would be fun for a lot of us to go to this, if it would work out.

Too bad it is not in New York City. We might all have to walk from the airport, but it might be fun once we got into Manhattan!

If you guys are serious about meeting in NJ for this - seriously consider me being a part of it.

This may be what it takes to get the bad taste of me missing the DDY show in Nashville when I had a front row center seat out of my mouth

ASH! Great to hear from you. I truly am seriously considering the Morristown show and Atlantic City too.

As Scott says, Joisey in the spring?? Watz dis??? Ah well...this show sounds like a true rarity.

Please explain how Glen is so much better than Tommy.

This oughta be good.

I won't even attempt it. LOL...

But I will say that I think Glen is more diverse musicially (and um, fashionly) ;-)

I'm already having nightmares of plaid pants and striped shirts...

Glen might be talented but I don't think he's ever written anything as signifcant as "Crystal Ball", "Renegade" or "Blue Collar Man".

There are tons of talented session guys out there, but until you can write songs of that calibre, you're just not quite on that level.

Classic classic songs.

Well...YEAH (I guess), but then again, none of those went to number one or two like two Glen-penned songs did.

I wouldn't exactly put "Sometimes Love Ain't Enough" in the "Crystal Ball" category... but I take it you would?

Well, I can sing both of them pretty well. lol...

But no, I wasn't. I was just saying that while they may not be the same type of songs, you can't dispute that one was far more successful than the other.

Sometimes Love was number one on Billboard for two weeks in 1992 (I looked it up). Spirit of a Boy...was number two on the Billboard country charts in 1999. I didn't look up how long it stayed there. In fact, in an early "Dear Glen" letter, Tommy submitted a note jokingly asking him if he would write him a number one song.

I guess it's how you define success. "Disco Duck" was a #1 song also.

Not to say I'm comparing that with this, but looking at chart success as a sole barometer for the success of a song can be dangerous territory.

There are tons of songs that are timeless classics that didn't have much chart success.

I'd much prefer to look at how a song endures the test of time and it's overall impact.

And thus, I think classic rock staples like those mentioned above are more significant in the long run.

Interesting. & I don't disagree necessarily, but you're not comparing apples to apples either. For example, Sometimes Love Ain't Enough, to ME, is far less obnoxious than say...Babe. Both hit #1, both are sappy ballads. Both songwriters deserve their credit for writing songs that made it that far, that's all I'm sayin'.

I think Watching the World Go By is just as enjoyable as Crystal Ball.

Yea, I hear what you're saying. I wouldn't rank "Babe" up there either to tell you the truth.

Darwin,

Go purchase Welcome To Hollywood give it a good listen and then tell me what you think. After that purchase Poolakville & Retrospective.

Solo, Tommy's Seven Deadly Zens may come close. Nothing else he has done.

I saw the Edge tour and Glen RULED. Dennis let Glen be a major part of the the Styx experience. From 1999- 2003 Tommy and JY held Glen on a short leash. When Glen was given the spotlight he was BYYYYY FAARRRR the best entertainer of the entire bunch( Gowan second).

I like the hell out of Tommy, but Glen is a better songwriter, and much better entertainer, and equal as a singer.

To me this concert ( Dennis Lost Treasures, Glen & Rik ) will be much better than the Styx, Journey, REO Main Event tour.

I just hope I get a chance to see it!!!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year EVERYONE.

Lets all remember that it is only music. I hope the rest of the band can follow Dennis and Glens lead, and maybe soon they will be playing ice hockey on the River Styx.

Peace to all!!!!

Yogi, you're always such a great billboard for Glen's music! LOL

I just wanna go on record to say that I do NOT want the "rest of the guys" to "follow Glen's lead" and go back with Dennis. I think a reunion show or two is cool (maybe), but that's it, if at all. Nostalgia is one thing. Train wrecks are another. There is nothing wrong with the equations as they are now.

<---Who was also perfectly happy with Damn Yankees and Styx the way they were.

Yes he is!! If it wasn't for him promoting Glen's "Welcome To Hollywood" cd over and over and over on here I never would've bought it!!! (No offense) - LOL

I just want to see one show with Dennis and Tommy on stage with the songs that I want to hear (LOL), that's all. I'm not asking too much am I?? LOL

I guess I would just love to see one reunion show with the classic line-up, one more time. I think. I know they ALL moved on now and it would be very uncomfortable on stage, but maybe just one more time. I keep going back and forth on this one now. Other bands have reunited one time recently in which no one ever thought they would get back together.

<---Who was also perfectly happy with Damn Yankees and Styx the way they were.

As for Damn Yankees, I would like just one more album. I think they still have it in them as a group. Right?

Renowned Singer-Songwriters Glen Burtnik & Kasim Sulton to perform at Tin Angel in Philadelphia - February 3, 2006

Glen Burtnik, an award-winning singer-songwriter who has penned number-one hits for artists such as Patty Smyth, Don Henley, and Randy Travis, will co-headline a show with singer-songwriter Kasim Sulton, recognized and respected the world over for his work with Todd Rundgren, Meat Loaf, and other artists, as well as his solo material.

PHILADELPHIA, PA (PRWEB) December 28, 2005 -- GLEN BURTNIK has shared the stage with Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny, Little Steven Van Zandt, and Jon Bon Jovi; performed hundreds of shows as a member of the multi-platinum rock group STYX, written chart-topping songs for artists such as Patty Smyth, Don Henley, and Randy Travis, sung background vocals on Celine Dion's Grammy winning Falling Into You album, portrayed Paul McCartney in the Broadway show BEATLEMANIA, released a number of solo albums (the most recent being Welcome to Hollywood on Atenzia records), and presented an annual Christmas concert each year since 1989 to benefit various local charities including the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.

KASIM SULTON is recognized and respected the world over for his work with Todd Rundgren & Utopia, Meat Loaf, Joan Jett, Hall & Oates, Patti Smith, Patty Smyth, Mick Jagger, and Celine Dion to name just a few. A multi-instrumentalist, his level of involvement has ranged from playing bass, keyboards, and/or guitar, to adding vocal harmonies, singing lead, and contributing as a songwriter, to producing entire albums, as he did with the Meat Loaf VH-1 Storytellers CD (1999). In between touring and recording with Todd Rundgren and Meat Loaf, he released a solo album entitled Quid Pro Quo (2001) and performed in the Billy Joel musical "Movin' Out," playing both guitar and sometimes bass, during it's 3-year run on Broadway. Most recently, Sulton has joined the new incarnation of pioneering new wave rock act the Cars, which will tour and possibly record an album in 2006.

On Friday, February 3rd, Burtnik and Sulton will both perform intimate solo shows at the Tin Angel, located at 20 South 2nd Street in Philadelphia. Although the two songwriters have known one another for years, and penned a number of songs together, this marks their first ever co-bill. Burtnik's album Palookaville (1996) features one of their many collaborations, "Johnny Comes Home," while Sulton's album Quid Pro Quo (2002) features another, "Heaven Help The Child." Look for the two songwriters to share the stage for one or more of their collaborations.

Glen Burtnik and Kasim Sulton are available for interviews. Contact Kathy Wagner at 609-634-5998 or e-mail protected from spam bots. Audio clips and high-resolution jpg photos are available via email request. Official websites: www.glenburtnik.com & www.kasimsulton.com.

SHOW INFO: Glen Burtnik & Kasim Sulton, Friday, February 3, 2006, 7:30 PM at the Tin Angel, 20 South 2nd St, Philadelphia, PA; Tickets $16, available at the venue box office or online at www.TinAngel.com.

Once for nostalgia might be nice (It might also feel weird and awkward seeing them together after everything that's happened. Hence, the maybe.), but I wouldn't want it to continue as a regular thing, that's what the hell that is.

I assure you, the feeling is mutual.
