Look out Jim and Tom the row boat is sinking
If you did not pay offf Chuck 6 years ago you would right now be down 3 to 2 and I expect that to happen this summer.
HATS off to Burtnick great move,

It would be nice if they all got together, but I can not see it happening, DDY is happy with a light tour schedule, a cd every 5 years. Don't see them doing it.
But a one shot cd and tour would be nice, then everyone back to your corners, but this time as friends-ERIC

You know, a few of my friends were talking about this very thing - DDY obsessives who will take these two shows and turn them into something "deeper" than what it really is. I too am glad Glen agreed to accept the gig. Personally, I think it'll be a fantastic show, and I hope I get to see it. However, and this may come as a surprise to some of you (Froy), it will have no bearing on Tommy, JY, Chuck, Gowan, Todd, or Ricky, other than maybe some interesting comments amongst themselves on the bus. If Tommy ever does a reunion with Dennis, I guarantee it will have nothing to do with this show with Glen.
Of course, enjoy the show! It'll be well-worth it! Especially with Rik frickin' Emmett, omg...But for heaven's sake, Tommy and JY need to stop being the center of your universe, Froy. Enjoy life and all of it's crazy-ass curve balls!

Everyone who was associated with classic Styx has stayed with them. As far as I know no one has gone with Dennis. I still believe there is a good reason for that. Glen was nothing more then a hired hand. A very good one! He had no vested interest in the band. I suppose “Killing the thing that you love” will be regarded as a great song by some of you who thought it was a piece of crap 2 years ago.
As for glen and Dennis doing a couple of shows together, I think it’s great! I wish I could be there to see it. I thought Glen’s latest CD was great. I think if Dennis could convince Glen to join his show on a permanent bases it would be a plus for him. Then Glen could quite the Beatles tribute band he is in. It seems Glen wants to play sporadically which fits right in with what Dennis wants to do.
Happy Holidays Everyone!

Really you spoke to Tom about it?
If you think Jim and Tom are not pissed off about this you need your head examined
Just look at the last rant from Shaw on how many shows they have done in the last 6 years and how they dumped Dennis for the fans
They had surgery of a main artery and all that crap.
Now a former band member jumps ship and joins Dennis.
Oh I think it has a huge bearing on Shaw and Young
And some day you will see Pannazzo up there as well.

Everyone ?
If you knew the true story on why Chuck has not gone with Dennis you would be stunned.
He will someday mark my words,
As far as I know no one has gone with Dennis. I still believe there is a good reason for that.
1 word Spite,
Glen was nothing more then a hired hand. A very good one! He had no vested interest in the band. I suppose “Killing the thing that you love” will be regarded as a great song by some of you who thought it was a piece of crap 2 years ago.
Wow now he's a hired hand you kill me man.
Glen wrote some killer tunes on EOTC and EOTC 2 was a great sounding record. I hope they play Fooling Yourself that would really stick it to Tom.
As for glen and Dennis doing a couple of shows together, I think it’s great! I wish I could be there to see it. I thought Glen’s latest CD was great. I think if Dennis could convince Glen to join his show on a permanent bases it would be a plus for him.

I tend to believe this is an experiment. See-how-it-goes kind of thing. I do not see Glen joining Dennis for anything that even remotely resembles a tour. Maybe a few dates here and there if these NJ concerts go well for them.
As to what JY and TS etc. think. Who knows and who cares?
I am sure the songs DDY and GB will perform were agreed upon before any deal was made, and they will be just what Dennis said on his website.

If they all get on the stage together it will only be for the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, but that won't happen in which they will be able to perform together without their walkers. Damn the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame.
Anyway, the only other way they would get together is if someone paid all the members a really huge load of money OR if it was a special one-time charity event.

I can't wait to enjoy the shows!! I still can't believe it, Rik frickin' Emmett!!! I'm still in shock
this is something I always wanted, Dennis and Rik but with a bonus with Glen.

Coming from someone who not long ago was espousing that the version of Styx with Glen in it was the greatest version ever, you sure do change your tune when Glen decides to get with Dennis.
He went from a member of the greatest line-up to a "hired hand".
I'm sure Glen will find this attitude refreshing.... oh wait.... he realized that way back when and thats likely why he bailed. I see how it works.
Don't let your double standard stand in the way of reality.
Merry F--ing Christmas

I'm not sure I'd take it to this extreme - but I *am* curious to know what kind of behind the scenes stuff is going on and people's true feelings. I doubt Tommy really cares so much. Tommy seems (from this outsider's perspective) to be all about Tommy. JY is even more so, but he has a lot of pent-up issues with Dennis he seemed to be trying to publically vent the past few years.
This is one of those things you'd love to be the "fly on the wall" regarding, but does it really matter?
I'd take DDY and Glen over Styx... but that's a no-brainer coming from me. I think it'd be great if it were Dennis, Glen and Tommy - ditching the "fill in the blank drummer" and "fill in the blank bassist" and hit the road. You're paying to see those three anyway (at least we sane ones)
I'm just in awe that this happened. Especially with some of the things Glen said about Dennis a few years ago. It's great to see that sometimes people can burry the hatchet without it having to be burried in the other person's back.

Don't forget Styx officially became a "business" back in 1979. True friendships were broken up with the signing on the dotted lines.
When the business Styx fired one of it's employees in 1999, the other employee's didn't want to lose their income, their jobs. In that situation they each had to make a choice, earn money to make a living or stick up and side with one of the employees that was fired. What would you do if you had a family to support or if this was your only income since you were not a songwriter and you're not receiving the royalities from songs as a few others in the band?
That's why the members stayed with the business/band Styx in 1999.
"Killing the Thing That You Love" is still a piece of crap to me - LOL Just kidding, I'll have to re-read my review.

That's true on his last letter, I "think" he was trying to prove a point that they can still go on and on without the "heart" of Styx, or whatever he wrote.
As for Chuck up on stage with Dennis, um, I would say "Never Say Never" on this one. Special show in Chicago, end of 2006? Maybe? Don't know, time will tell on that one.Eric wrote:Had all Triumph's cd, and two of his solo cds. Ric can sing good, but he has never impressed me. Each his (or her) on tastes-ERIC
Eric, if you have time, take a listen again a few more times!! I know, to each his/her own, but I really love Rik's music!!! This is still one of my dreams come true

Suite, please elaborate on what you know about a Dennis/Tommy show.
Did Dennis' people approach Tommy about doing some sort of show together?
Also, how do you get this inside info? Are you related to Dennis?

Wow. Either Froy admits that Welcome To Hollywood is a good record or he doesn't understand english. Surprises never cease.
By the way, what exactly did Glen say about Dennis in the past?

I would take Denny, Glenny and Tommy any day too together at this stage of the game.

Just a few rumor's I heard. Sometimes the rumor's I hear pan out sometimes they turn out to just be rumors. I have friends that are Promoter's and that work in radio. It's also something I would love to see and it's very possible, no matter what the history is.Did Dennis' people approach Tommy about doing some sort of show together?
They're always approached to have a reunion. When the right amount of money comes along or if it's a super special event, it can happen. But in my opinion, if Dennis and JY would share the stage, this would be a one time event. Also, how do you get this inside info? Are you related to Dennis?
I think Adam has more "inside" information than me - LOL He's the one that posted about Glen and Dennis first
Most of the stuff I post I just guess, hope for or start a conversation. Like Rik Emmett opening up, that was a total guess and I'm actually still shocked of the timing.
No I'm not related to anyone from the band. I have very good friends that are with both camps. And I read all the message boards from all the band members with more information.
In my past posts I mentioned that I interviewed Dennis and also JY for my little tv show.

For the record, if George Bush were to announce " As for the number of Iraqi voters who came out in droves, I think it’s great! I also think the Super Bowl is great. And I think if Paul Simon could convince Art Garfunkel to join his show on a permanent bases it would be a plus for him” and I yelled “I AGREE!” that would mean I agreed with all 3 of Bush’s statements.
Froy: I agreed to this: ' As for glen and Dennis doing a couple of shows together, I think it’s great! I thought Glen’s latest CD was great. I think if Dennis could convince Glen to join his show on a permanent bases it would be a plus for him.'

Go to the mall and buy some gifts for your family
