So here we go... I am making the trip to NJ for the two shows that Glen and Dennis will be doing.
From this list, who is seriously considering or have made the decision to go?
The reason I ask.... we should buy a big block of tickets and all sit together.
Thoughts? Plans? Ideas?
I'll likely fly into New York and drive to Morristown, and then onto Atlantic City.

Ash, I'm going for sure. I'm booking my flights after Jan. 12 when I have my tickets ordered. I'm thinking of flying into Newark, renting a car going the hour drive to Morristown stay the night, then head to Atlantic City which is about one and half hours (?) stay the night or two -LOL
I'm "suppose" to have the Presale codes emailed to me, hopefully by the end of next week. I'm not sure if it's for both shows or just one.
If you sit by me, bring the Kleenex for "Lady" - LOL

I will be going if I can fanagle the time off from work. I'll probably drive it. Ash consider Newark in stead of NYC if you are not staying in the city. Its much easier to get in and out of.
The Floor is GA for the HOB show.
And there may be group rates available for the Morristown show if we want to buy a block of at least ten. Remember that this show is deep in the heart of Glen's backyard.

Venue is 20 minutes from his driveway - LOL Yes, there are group rates, I'll see what the minimum is when I get home. For $100 membership, you can have great seats for the Morristown show.

Hey there. I just found this website. I haven't read all of your postings, but has anyone heard if Tommy or JY have reacted to this Dennis/Glen renunion? I live in SanJose California, but am originally from Long Island.
I will definately fly to NJ to see this show if Dennis doesn't add any West coast shows with Glen to his tourlist.

I would personally believe that it will probably be just these two. IF you believe what Glen has not only said but does, then touring really isn't his thing. Like Dennis, its a show here and there as the mood moves him. Since leaving Styx, he hasn't done many dates, even in promoting his own cd.

You know that I can't bring one in!!
Wouldn't that be great to have the soundboard recording of these shows and also the Chicago HOB show???? They have the Chicago one and I want it!! All bands record their shows!!! Or should I say, most bands??

Hi!! Why not go to both?? LOL Ah yes, the Rik Emmett factor!!!!!
hehehe.... i luv rik! i've seen him 3 or 4 times recently (past 6 years i guess). he doesn't hit this area too often. frightenly, i've seen him in an old theater, a dive bar, and a knights of columbus hall(!) but it's about the music, so who cares!

as far as only hitting the AC show, i can't take off for the whole weekend and leave the kids with hubby. who knows, the whole family just might make the trek to AC anyway. I should've gone last month when styx was there, but i had 2nd row tix for the elizabeth show. not even gonna discuss that one!!! grrr....
This is just a "hunch" but I would think if the Friday night show is sold out and depending how fast it sells out, I bet they'll add an extra show on Saturday. So thinking that, I think I'm going to stay through Sunday for sure. If there's not an extra show, I guess I'll just have to find a poker table in Atlantic City
sounds plausable. is there anything booked for the next night? take care!

not sure if tommy or jy will even bother making any comment. it's only 2 shows... not a full blown tour or album. but it would be interesting if this leads to the release of that long lost styx album!
soooo.... where on the guyland are you from?

lived here all my life. you're lucky to have gotten out! LOL!

I couldn't find anything booked at the HOB Atlantic City for the following night. I'm just thinking since one show is on a Thursday night, the next on a Friday night and so far Saturday open that they might or could add another show. I guess it all depends on how the Friday night does.
I'm going to plan on coming home on Sunday, just in case. I hate to miss anything - LOL

If nothing else were to come of the DDY and GB shows, I would like to think there's a possibility for some kind of creative collaboration in terms of songwriting.
I mean lets face it - these guys are the TWO best song writers Styx has ever seen (JY being a close third). I think it would be great to see them work together on a couple of songs for the next GB or DDY record.
Hell - even a release of the lost Styx record would be great..
(and of course, I was just kidding about JY being the third best songwriter Styx has ever seen.... but he was only slightly behind JC).

Do you think that will happen?? Couldn't Dennis and Glen take "their" songs and put them on a separate cd? Maybe add songs too? Or be a guest on each others cd's?

If they wanted to, they could re-record Dennis and Glen written songs, but I would highly doubt Tommy or JY would let them re-record their songs.
I would also think they would have a difficult time marketing them as an offshoot of Styx through a major label.
And hasn't Glen re-recorded most of his Styx "authored" songs? Most of the songs he had already written and were Styxified for Styx albums.

To have those lost Styx song released would be great. As far as Dennis and Glen starting a band as a Styx off-shoot……..That would be crazy! Why would Glen want to do something like that when he could have had the real thing? Besides, I don’t think Glen is into the show tune style.

Highly doubt it, even if a third show is added.

These two shows will truly be lost treasures shows. Damn I wish I could go!!!!
Glen is twice the talent that Tommy is. I like the hell out of Tommy Shaw, but Glen is MUCH MUCH better in EVERY phase.
Tommy had the good, no the GREAT fortune of joining the band at the PERFECT time. They were on a major lable and they were 100% polished. After Dennis and the boys did Equinox, they could of brought in the guy who sang Ku Fu Fighting to replace John C. and they were going to hit BIG!!! Tommy lucked out.
Did he add to Styx?? Hell yes he did, but they were going to be GREAT with or without him.
The misfortune Glen had was joing Styx at the exact same time grunge hit the scene. Then in part because of grunge Styx loses their lable. Still, Glen helped the band score their last two top 30 hits and sang five songs on their last album to go platinum.
Glen has NEVER given himself enough credit as to his contribution to Styx, and to himself as a solo artist.
In my opinion he was every bit as good as Dennis on the Edge album and tour. His two 1/2 songs off of Cyclorama were excellent. And he was the best performer they had live from 1999-2003.
Enjoy the shows, because you are seeing TWO of the best EVER!!!!
WELCOME TO HOLLYWOOD!!!!!!!!

Yogi, if Denny and Glenny (LOL) play in Chicago together for a Lost Treasure's Show at the House of Blues in September, could you make it then???
That's too bad that you can't make it in April!! I wish you could be there!!!
Well there won't be a second show with Rik Emmett in April on that Saturday, he'll be somewhere else, bummer.
