I am hearing good things. Of course I have "known" Kelly since he was with Hurricane. He has also been the voice of many "tribute" records. He is a strong rock vocalist. Adding Jeff Pilson to that I am sure you have a great vocal sound. It might not sound much like Lou, but I think that will be OK.

I have. I saw them last Labor Day weekend in A.C. Kelly is very good. A powerful set of pipes.
Here's the link to my review on this forum, if you so desire:

I don't think it's gonna work. If Lou walked they should've reached out to Johnny Edwards again. Who ever really pulls it off with a 3rd vocalist?

Honestly, I didn't think Johnny was that good. That album tanked big time with him. From what I have heard, maybe they should have sought out Kelly in the first place! Or...maybe Johnny wasn't available/willing to go round two.

Of course the album tanked as was to be expected with that sort of situation. But the tour was pretty big business still compared to what's going on now. Maybe that was b/c they still had Jones/Wills/Elliot in the band. I wonder if they EVER considered calling Edwards back this time.
Though it tanked business-wise, did you like the UH album, AKAY?

Eh, it was alright. 'Low Down and Dirty' really turned me off from the get-go. I'm such a huge Lou fan that I admit having a hard time giving Johnny a fair shake.

I also saw them on the 1991 tour with Johnny and thought he did a fantastic job. Unusual Heat I also liked and didn't think it was given a fair shake. Overall, of course, I still liked Lou better. Much more versatile voice. No one could put forth those Foreigner ballads as passionately as he did.

And based on current interviews, BOY did he resent that fact.

Yep, that's for sure. And that's a great interview too! It looks like there's quite alot of tension there. Gramm hated the fact that the group was perceived as only a ballads band as the more rocking side was downplayed by the radio and record companies. The same thing happened to Night Ranger and other similar acts at the time.

Gee, I can think of another band that fits that description...
Can either of you direct me to that interview?

There's another recent one with Mick and I sorta agree with waht he says. The ratio of ballads/rockers on their albums did not change. Radio did. 1 or 2 ballads on Agent Prov, just like Double Vision. But by 84 radio only wanted to hear IWTNWLI where as '78 radio made 3 rockers hits off Double Vision. You can't blame Mick that radio started to gravitate to the ballads.
If he did 6 ballads and 4 rockers then that's another thing, but again the ratio did not change.

I admire Lou for standing up for his principles and for his toughness in dealing with his health problems. And getting through his wife of two years leaving him due to his health. He's one tough dude. He's no Deano, but he is tough...

Yes, I wish they coulda worked it out. His voice was deeper but to me it still sounded good. I looked forward to hearing what the new recordings would sound like....

Unusual Heat is my second favorite Foreigner cd, behind 4. Johnny did a good job on the cd, and better on the tour-ERIC

That boot would no doubt be the Superstars in Concert show from their Fresno, CA show on that 1991 tour. GREAT SHOW! I remember it ran the same weekend I saw them live.

Hey Leesa, thanks for posting that! I haven't gotten a chance to see the new lineup yet, as they haven't been anywhere around here. That being said, I'm rather disappointed. I guess I'd heard enough good things about Kenny, but that performance didn't impress me at all.
Still a Lou-Loon I guess.

I guess I'll be a better judge after I see them this Saturday at Sea World, but I wasn't impressed with the video....but it's only one song, I'm curious to hear the others, Darren says Shamu can always take the mic lol
Oh I love the characatures the artists do there, I'm having one done of Darren with his long hair tight jeans and a flying V and I being the screaming up front fan with a camera.....can't wait to see what they come up with lol
Time for Superbowl...see ya later..
