Underwood, Heart, Kansas and Styx at Musikfest

America Idol's country sweetheart Carrie Underwood is one of three main
stage acts announced today for this year's Musikfest.

Officials of the Bethlehem festival, which runs Aug. 4-13, are hoping the
2005 American Idol winner will repeat the success of Idol runner-up Clay
Aiken, who nearly sold out the 6,500-seat Riverplace stage two years in a
row.

The 22-year-old beauty from Checotah, OK, whose double platinum debut "Some
Hearts" is in the Billboard top ten, will perform at 8:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at
Riverplace.

"You can't deny the popularity of American Idol," said Musikfest Spokesman
Mark Demko. "Tens of millions of people watch it."

At 8 p.m. Aug. 13, the final night of the festival, 1970s superstars Ann and
Nancy Wilson will perform with their band Heart in what Demko calls a "rare
appearance to the area."

The band, which had Top 40 hits like "Crazy on You," Magic Man," "Barracuda,
"What About Love?" and "These Dreams," recently released "Jupiter's Darling
" its first new album of original music in 11 years.

And returning to Musikfest at 7 p.m. Aug. 10 is the classic rock act Kansas,
playing a double bill with Styx.

In 2002, Kansas -- known for 1970s hits "Carry On Wayward Son," "Point of
Know Return" and "Dust in the Wind" -- sold out show the Riverplace with
Little River Band.

Styx, whose hits include "Babe," "Lady," "Come Sail Away" and "The Best of
Times,"
released its most recent album "Big Bang Theory," in 2005. The band
previously played at the Allentown Fair in 2001. Last year former Styx
frontman Dennis De Young sold out a concert of Styx music during Musikfest

at Zoellner Arts Center.

"People love the music of Styx," Demko said. "Both bands are rock legends
and there are a lot of classic rock fans in the Lehigh Valley."

Tickets for Carrie Underwood are $22-$39; Styx and Kansas, $22-$34; and
Heart, $22-$39. Musikfest also has announced acts for its Performing Arts
series and Candlelight Concert series on its web site at www.musikfest.org.

Tickets for all concerts go on sale to Club Musikfest members on April 6,
and to the general public April 17.

But they are the songs that Tommy & JY played on......and they are Styx songs not DDY solo songs........it would be wrong for Styx to play Desert Moon but there is nothing wrong in them playing any Styx song.......Maybe if DDY wants to play the songs live the guitar solo's should be changed ?

Big deal. If LRB can sell it out then it can't be a big deal. They just scheduled an Ostrich racing concert...and you thought Toad Puke and balloon festivals are bad (which LRB has also performed at).
