But why is Jack Blades standing there helping tommy hold up a plaque commemorating sales of 2 million copies of Styx greatest hits? Does that strike anyone as odd/surreal?

They were in the middle of taking pictures and I'm sure they asked Jack to jump in. Yes, it did strike me odd too.
