About 2 weeks ago, Former Pink Floyd Guitarist / Vocalist David Gilmour released a solo CD, his 1st solo effort in over 20 years. It's called On An Island. I'm listening to it now, it's very good IMO, has a very "Floydian" feel to it, but also some differences.

I'm wondering if anyone else out in Styxland has heard this, and if so , what is your opinion of it ? Since all members of Floyd have pretty much ruled out revving up that machine, this is probably as close to new PF music as we are likely to get.....Dave himself just turned 60, and has stated he no longer has the desire to be a part of something as ambitious as Floyd.

Anyways, if you are a fan of PF, I recommend this CD, or at least giving it a listen. That is all.

Haven't bought it yet but aim to. I loved his first two solo albums. Very Floydian in sound.

We've been playing the title track on our radio station for about a month now. GREAT song and we have been getting a lot of positive comments and requests for it. We also ran a special two weeks ago, with David talking about the album and playing a lot of tracks off of it. Good stuff!! If you've seen the video for the title track you will see David Crosby and Graham Nash helping out on backing vocals! Floyd fans will LOVE this album!

I just bought it on line and expect to get it by the end of the week. Looks like it is going to be very Floyd like. I like what I a have heard from the first single.

I also recently picked up the new Toto cd and like it alot.

Looks like I'm going to have to order the new Toto. As usual it's been released overseas first. One time I had to actually buy one of their CDs at one of their rare U.S. concerts since it wasn't available here yet.
