Wow this is great stuff. Glad to see them making more of these happen. Whats even better is they're doing it because they want to - not because they feel they have to. Rock on.

Um... it's not like there's any deep, secret hidden - backward message or anything to what I said .. They're playing together because they want to play together and doing it when it works for both of them and not "STRESSING ABOUT BEING AN OMFG STYX II TOUR" or some such.

My posts do not require a tinfoil hat to understand :)

Well, the condescending tone is clear, anyway.

What I read, and I'm sure it's JUST ME, is that somehow you were implying that there are other Styx-related people out touring because they HAVE TO not because they WANT TO, and that was what raised my eyebrow, Captain Obvious. And my question to that would then be: Where did you acquire such inside information, or is this epiphany based solely on your personal biases, and also, what constitutes neccessity in your eyes? And then, my next question would be: would a "neccessity to" tour make the show any less desirable to you, and if so, why?

Thirdly, I'll just say that I look really good in tin foil.

(Adjusting my tin foil hat here for a sec......there!)

Not to get into this little fray, but as a general observation, I see the Glen/DDY concerts as a sort of casual thing. A sort of, "Hey, this is working! Doya want to do a few more? What works for you? OK, sounds good, let's do it."

(Note: the above imaginary conversation was not received through my tin foil. For some reason, I seem to be picking up old Wolfman Jack radio shows today. Hmmmm....need to readjust....)

Whatever the reason they are working together, I can only hope both find it beneficial. Beyond that...only adds fuel to the endless speculation that we fans have.

So is this feud a JY/Dennis thing with Tommy sitting on the sideline? Is JY the one who is miffed at Dennis here?

Not really known. There is a lot of speculation as to whom (if anybody) is mad/miffed at whom. That speculation is mostly fueled by statements made by various band members in various interviews. They become fuel for each "side" to bolster their own point of view and arguments as to who is "right", "wrong", or who caused the whole fray.

My own personal point of view is that I do not wish to see the band reunite, however...it's not really up to me.

Not to change the subject Zan.... but although I like you and think you're an asset to the forum - I find it peculiar that you talk about MY condescending tone. Isn't that a bit like the pot calling the kettle black.

I said they're doing it because they want to (for fun) instead of being forced to (to sell tickets). And that is somehow condescending.

In the nicest way... get a grip.... please. Amazing how you take one sentance and make the topic about something it was never meant to be.

Now you're just trying to butter me up. ;-)

BTW, the original post wasn't condescending. How you answered my original reply was.

So in other words, you were implying exactly what I thought you were implying with no real facts to back it up, only your opinion based on (IMO) jaded observations. Unless of course, you weren't implying (in a roundabout sorta way) that *other* people weren't playing out of enjoyment and only for money (that question, by the way, you still haven't answered). It's possible you might have thought I wouldn't notice after that blistering retort about pots and kettles and everything, but I did. lol

If you think they're doing shows just to amuse themselves, you're not as smart as I thought you were. Luck/good marketing/irony had it that their two shows went well, so why wouldn't they want to add some more? That's called common sense, Ash. Had it all been a train wreck, musically or fiscally, they wouldn't be doing more, period. Now, if you're suggesting neither men are destitute, I will agree that's likely. But does that mean they're not concerned with selling tickets? C'mon, man. Get real.

I've heard great things about it - I hope I'll get a chance to see one of the shows one day. I just don't buy into the rah-rah BS. Go see the shows if you want to, it's that simple. And it'll sell more tickets. LOL

I am glad you think I'm an asset/ass-et (lol) here, tho - the feeling's mutual.

Wow... it's misconception mania here on the forum. I never meant to imply they weren't doing it to get paid. People have to make a living and I'm not naieve. These guys couldn't afford to do this for free for God's sake. All I'm just saying that neither Glen or Dennis **NEED** to do it to sell tickets. In such it's not a gimmick or some quick buck scheme and they really hate eachother but are putting up with eachother to make a buck.

Having said that - this IN NO WAY implies that ANY OTHER act is doing so for that reason (except maybe the Eagles).

I guess my point to this whole thing was: I'm glad these two got past the issues between them and are having fun entertaining schlocks like us and making a pile of cash in the process. Because THAT is the very definition of the American Dream.

That's not what or how you said it in the first post. You probably sould have included your parenthesis if you didn't want to be misunderstood in the first place. I kinda got the same vibe she did in your first post. Say what you mean and mean what you say.

With all due respect - how the fuck do YOU know *how* I said something. This forum has no emotion.... and I neither capitalized or bolded anything for emphasis. You read things through the prism of your own bias and then assign meaning and influence to me and that is frankly bullshit. Don't put words in my mouth or thoughts in my head that weren't there. I wasn't taking a shot at anyone or anything like you seem to think I was - I was just stating how nice it was that these guys were working together because they ironed it out and it was fun.

Some people just can't see past their own bias and agenda to realize that someone MIGHT ACTUALLY be saying something nice. Bloody hell..

Thank you, my adoring...co-board inhibitors. LOL

Ash - got it. It's all clear now. Just go and enjoy it for whatever reason works for you.

Angie - thanks! I'm glad I'm not the only one "reading into" innocent stuff.

Annie - I did giggle at the sequel post.

Jodes - CONGRATULATIONS!!! In the...6 years I've know you, this is the most happy I think I've ever read you. Rock on!

I actually think Zan was sincere with that statement. You finally explained yourself to Zan in an effective way that made your opinion clear (at least I thought so) so Zan was saying that's cool. And Zan would be correct in hoping you go and enjoy it. It never really mattered what your reasons are, but I think it is safe to say Zan understands what you meant now...

However, the first post DID sound like you were implying some other act (and since this is the STYX board it only makes sense that it appeared you meant them) was touring because they "needed to". And your response to Zan's query about this WAS condescending as all get out!

It was your follow-up response to Zan that made your point/opinions/feelings clear and understandable...

Well Zan, living where I do, there's not that much to be happy about Styx wise! :P

But yes.. I think things have turned a corner for me, and this DDY/GB show has just made my day/weekend. I'm so pumped.. It's been 4 long years since I've seen Glen live, and almost 10 long years since I've seen Dennis live.

As for Tommy, Larry, JY, Chuck, Todd and Ricky it's been since 2003 since I've seen them as well..

I'm definately in need of a Styx fix.. anyway I can take it!

Everything on this BB is read with a double meaning. When some are trying to be sincere, others read it as stabbing someone in the back. And when others are trying to stab others in the back, it is read as being sincere.

I think we all know by now that nobody ever wins in the word smything game on here.
