2007 will be the 30th anniversary for this great Dennis DeYoung Concept album
Many questions to be asked here

Will Dennis be back in his own band to celebrate it
and do a Return to the Return of The Grand Illusion

Will he get Glen to sing Fooling Yourself and Man In The Wilderness and perfom the entire album at his solo shows Hank can sing Miss America better than JY anyway.

Or will Gowan ruin the entire thing and hang around and pretend like he had a hand in this like he has been doing for all these years .

I can't even guess what is going to happen.

What would be cool is if DDY would do some kind of celebratory show and bring in Glen to sing:

Man In The Wilderness
Fooling Yourself
Blue Collar Man
Renegade
Too Much Time On My Hands
Love Is A Ritual

That would rock.

Jodes, I saw the Edge Tour. Glen SHINED!! I can only speak for Minneapolis and St. Louis, and at those shows the fans LOVED him!!

As for the Grand Illusion being a Dennis Deyoung Concept Album that is just not a true statement. It was a STYX concept album.

Dennis Deyoung would be the first one to agree with me on that.

Back in 1977 when The Grand Illusion was released Styx was comprised of : Dennis, Tommy, JY, John & Chuck. Jimmy Carter was the President, Gas was 52 cents a gallon, Cigarettes were still advertised on TV and in magazines. J.R. Ewing was still in College, MASH was the most popular show on television etc...

As much as Froy wished Hank Horton was in Styx instead of JY at the time The Grand Illusion was released Hank Horton was not in Styx.

Now Hank can hang around like he has been ruining the good name of the band..............

Ash and yogi email me.. I have a couple of shows from the 91 tour (Dallas & St. Louis) you might be interested in.

I really don't know if Glen would really want to do Tommy's songs. I think Dennis would want to distance himself from from JY & Tommy's contributions.. Just like Styx has distanced themselves currently from doing Babe, Best of Times, Don't Let it End and Roboto.

As for Hank doing Miss America, I've never heard him sing (only backup for Dennis) so I won't pass judgement, BUT I don't think anyone could sing it like JY can.

Then there's the whole legal issue as well..

I think we should just be happy that currently everyone that's played a role in the "greater good of Styx" is on the road right now doing the songs we all love, in one form or another.

Personally, I don't see the Styx/DDY thing ending anytime soon. I do have my own views of what MIGHT bring them together, but it's something I'm not comfortable with talking about in a public forum.

Hello is Allright!

Actually cigarettes were dumped from TV advertising in 1971 and Dallas started its TV run in 1978 so JR would've definitely been outa college by then. LOL! But you're pretty right on with all the others yogi!

I've talked to Gowan and he has nothing but respect for Dennis and Dennis' music. Whether you like his voice or not, he tries to perform the songs with respect.

I have nothing against Gowan at all. He's a very nice guy. I just don't care for his singing voice, singing Dennis' songs or any songs, that's just my opinion.

I've heard that too about his feelings for Dennis :)

If he had respect for Dennis he would not be in STYX period.
He is the enabler of the band.
No Gowan no Dennis material played at STYX concerts thats the fact jack.

And again you show how naive you are. If Gowan wasn't singing and playing keyboards for Styx right now, then someone else would be and you would have someone different to hate.

I thought he was in his own band. I saw him about a month ago.

And seeing he did not write all the songs on the album by himself, I wouldn't hold my breath.

The Reunion if it happens would only happen as a retirement party and I don't see these guys hanging it up anytime soon.
