What Froy, no comments on it not being the "Real Deep Purple?"
Or is that one band that can change it's members and not get criticized by you?
No wait scratch that.. I don't think there's a band on the planet that's changed members that you would enjoy now is there?

Sure there is I enjoy Journey still a great band.
As far as Deep Purple not a big fan but as long as Blackmore is in the band then its Deep Purple
I see he's not so its once again not Deep Purple,

PS...
I am sure if Manilow offered DDY a support slot on his UK tour he would jump at the chance....

Barry had a #1 album in the states in the last year. Has Styx or any of their support acts? That would be a great business decision to tour with him.
You down Barry Manilow... and I think he's pretty frickin talented. Granted I don't listen to him when I'm in my Slipknot "People=Shit" mood hardcore but sometimes shuffle mode has different ideas.... and there's a time and a place for all kinds of music....
Manillow
Slipknot
Korn
James Taylor
Bruce Springsteen
Devildriver
Cold
Styx
Thousand Foot Krutch
Glen Burtnick
Linkin Park
Abba
The one thing in common... they're all on my ipod... and all played at some time today.

Froy, James Young was an original member of Styx, he might not have been part of the band when they started as TW4, but he was there when Styx changed their name.
That sure did look like JY on the promo poster I saw from Wooden Nickel records announcing the name change!
Now if you were talking TW4, yes, you'd be right, Tom Nardini (spelling) predated JY and JC. But left well before they became Styx.
There's only 3 still left alive, and maybe one day DDY and JY will work things out. Even if they do, Chuck will have a very limited role due to his health condition.

Still amazes me that Chuck is playing at 80% of the shows and many consider him not a part of the band and not an original member.

80 percent?
He plays on 3 songs once a month and collects his check.
Sounds like 5 percent to me.

Technically Deep Purple only has one original guy left, drummer Ian Paice. Current frontman Ian Gillan was their second lead singer. Bassist Roger Glover joined with Gillan in 1969. Jon Lord left four years ago and Blackmore departed again in late 1993.

The facts don't support your theory of 12 shows a year. Again, why would you let the facts get in your way?
But we all know you believe what you want to believe.
We know you can't spell and now we know you can't do math. Here's some simple math for you based on your numbers. If Chuck plays 12 days a year (one show a month) and 5% of the shows that Styx does, then Styx would play 240 shows a year.

LOL, those were funny!
This is my favorite:
Light-Up, Ace of Spades, etc. Plus who can ever get tired of hearing Come Sail With Me??
I don't think Styx sounds too girly!!
Who sings lead on Deep Purple anyway??

Still Ian Gillan, Suite!! with Glover on bass, Steve Morse on guitar, Paice on drums, Don Airey on keys
I dont know what to do ??????????????? I've seen Purple too many times (with and without Blackmore)
I HATE the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester (too big , no atmosphere)
Can only score crap tix!!!!! up to now
my daughter really wants to see Styx , but middle of floor she wont see, first level seating too far away
I think this is an unusual pairing for Styx!!!! Why cant they headline their own mini-tour like last year, OR even better tour with Journey, rumour has it they will deffo be back next year

Wasn't Joe Lynn Turner in Deep Purple? I like him. What about Richie Blackmore, what's up with him? Isn't he in there either? I like Dio too, but I guess that was Rainbow.
Mike, go to the concert when they come. Life is too short, try to see all the concerts that you can!

JLT did have a brief spell with them, Blackmore left to reform Rainbow around 93/94 then formed Blackmores Night in 97 ( first 2 albums were dire but last 3 are fantastic) its wierd medieval music?????????? but good???
I like Dio too, but with Rainbow and Sabbath
Rainbow are one of my top bands of all time, along with UFO, JOURNEY, and of course STYX
YEH THINK I WILL GO , WILL WAIT FOR TICKETS THOUGH?
COME ON ENGLAND
SORRY WORLD CUP FEVER
