Enough is enough

Its time to pass on buying anything with the STYX name on it
The last article by James Young just shows they are spitting in STYX fans faces.

No more concert tickets , no more cds ,
Shut off there revenue stream hit them where it counts

This will send a MESSAGE that we have had enough

STAY away from STYX concerts and when 5 people show up they will get the message

STYX fans can reshape the band not JY <

Not going to happen. They have far too many fans that enjoy Styx the way they are and could care less about the pissing contest between ex members. Its just music. Take a deep breath and enjoy the day.

Its happening with me and its happening with hundreds of thousands of others
Sure they have the Tommy girls chasing them around,
If Shaw goes so does all the STYX fans.
There are no JY fans and certainly no Gowan fans.
Pass on STYX save your money

When Froy says "we" he's referring to the people in his head - and about ten people other on this list.

I don't think there's 10 people on this list that feel the same as Froy, unless they're lurkers.

Here is a letter that I have just sent to the webmaster of Paradise Theater
.Com The Styx web page .

As a STYX fan for 25 years I think it's time to gather the troops and call
an end to the STYX fiasco of the past 8 months . We fans don't care about
royalties and money issues between band members all we want is a happy
family and STYX 5.whatever is ruining the STYX name and family.
Gowan is not a member of STYX and we are calling for his termination forth
with . After the remaining dates of this current tour the issues with Dennis
have to be rectified or the fans will start an internet boycott of STYX
3.6.or whatever name Tommy has labeled them. Now don't get me wrong I
respect Tommy Dennis an JY but I will never see this current lineup perform
. The ball is in your court the name STYX will be smeared with this boycott
and you know the party's that can fix the problem .
Good Day from a STYX veteran.

Yeah, a lot of good that did...

Hey, I know, maybe you should start a petition to get Dennis back in the band, too. I'm sure that will help your cause.

Grow up and realize something. When Dennis and the rest of Styx parted ways, they didn't settle on who got custody of the fans. We got the best of both worlds instead. Go see a Dennis show and GET OVER IT ALREADY.

Thank you, this has been a recording...

Just the usual stuff that pisses DeYoungHeads off...Babe sucks, DDY turned away from being a rock band, now that DeYoung is gone they want to return to their roots, and ROR sucks.

Actually only 2 - Froy and Darren.

Actually JY evidently think quite a few Styx songs suck, and is willing to go out there publically and berate stuff that he himself appears on. Now, that is a shame. The anger with this man runs so deep that he now is openly critical of music that he and Dennis made together. The other thing that is so interesting is that for some reason, JY didn't have a problem with Mr. Roboto when Volkswaagen wanted to use it for that commercial. In fact, he went with Dennis and re-recorded part of it specifically for that commercial. And obviously, he must not have a problem with those Greatest Hit royalty checks, which let's face it, is the only Styx album selling these days in any great quantities. But the problem with Greatest Hits, is almost half the songs on it are those crappy little ballads that JY despises.

So, I guess JY's hating of select Styx songs is really only apparent when the almighty dollar isn't involved.

So what? You think that is uncommon? Neal Schon has "berated" ROR for just as long as JY has Kilroy. In fact, they have made VERY similar statements with the 'back to the roots', and "we're a rock band", and "too many ballads", and "we're now a band" stuff.

That's life, get over it already. JY thinks DDY's direction hurt the unity of the "band", and he didn't like some of the songs. He's entitled to that opinion - he LIVED it. You didn't. He can talk about it all he wants - and I agree with much of what he says.

The anger with this man runs so deep that he now is openly critical of music that he and Dennis made together.

You are reading anger into his statements. The only 'anger' I read here is by some those who post in this forum.

The other thing that is so interesting is that for some reason, JY didn't have a problem with Mr. Roboto when Volkswaagen wanted to use it for that commercial.

How do you know? Just because his public persona didn't express it in the same way he does today?

And obviously, he must not have a problem with those Greatest Hit royalty checks, which let's face it, is the only Styx album selling these days in any great quantities.

Of course...but, that doesn't mean he has to LIKE THE SONGS.

But the problem with Greatest Hits, is almost half the songs on it are those crappy little ballads that JY despises.

The problem is that certain fans can't recognize that those shitty ballads and DDY's direction derailed Styx following Kilroy and continued causing problems through BNW. So, now that Dennis is out of the band, and JY speaks his mind about everything, he's wrong for it....and Dennis is faultless. I'm not going to subscribe to that view of the situation.

So, I guess JY's hating of select Styx songs is really only apparent when the almighty dollar isn't involved.

No, it became apparent as soon as Dennis exited the band and there was no reason to hold it back any longer.

Really take a look at that Lady video I posted NH that was 13 thousand fans at that show.
Current STYX when they don't hide at festivals draws 1300
There ten times worse than they were when Dennis was in.

Your right all the fans from the past are gone except for the high school girls who swoon over Shaw.

We got the best of both worlds instead.

No we got Gowan the hyped up Nikkie Sixx,

I've given up fighting, it's not worth it. I've moved on. I miss the harmonies and songs of what was. Sure I like to make digs here and there, just like some people love to do about Dennis, so what. I've accepted that there's 2 separate camps, do I like it? well there's nothing I can do but go out and enjoy the music. Life goes on.

I'm seeing Dennis and Glen tonight, I'll be happy. I'm seeing Styx for free (I want to call them Carrot Styx because it's a cute name) next month. Politics and fights aside I miss hearing Tommy singing live. I love my Dennis friends and I love my Styx friends, I have a great time at concerts with my friends, that means the world to me for these concerts.

I am not as passionate as Froy about his stand, but I for one have no intentions of attending a "styx" concert if they come anywhere near the gulf coast. Lets face it folks, they are about one more lineup change from being the new version of the Platters. I know I am an ol fossil, the Platters were a 50's band that had an incredible song called smoke gets in your eyes and a few more. They still occasionaly tour today. Not one surviving member is left in that band. I know I asked this b4, but when do we not call this styx anymore? John passed away, Chuck (regardless of what everyone thinks) is only a part time member and Dennis is out.
I gave these guys a chance: Saw them 4 times since DDY's departure, purcahsed Cyclorama and too many live CD's to count. I am burned out on them. Yes TS is still an amazing talent, if he comes to my area as a solo artist, the Lord is first in line. Yes Todd is the BEST drummer I have seen live, even better than John P. Yes Larry is an amazing keyboard player. But this is not Styx. And for those of you who think JY has said or done nothing wrong: Please watch BTM one more time or go to his unauthorized home page and click into 4 or 5 of his interviews of his own words about former member DDY. And note that Styx is doing a show/shows with an orchestra and a choir. Nuff said.
I hope any of you attending a Styx or DDY, or GB show enjoy yourself completely. I for one am holding out (maybe in vain) for a Dennis/Glen show somewhere on the gulf coast.

Huge Gowan fan here--I personally wish Froy and his negative friends would leave the rest of us who enjoy Styx and the various incarnations of the band alone and go visit the sites of the musicians they do enjoy.
