Summerfest Styx Review

I'm not going to win either way to even write a review so I'll just put up a few pictures. I bought a new camera and I'm still trying to figure out how to use it. LOL I only took about 90+ pictures.

There were about an estimated 8,000+ at this concert. 1,000 of them totally drunk and there were a few fights with my friends when people were trying to get in front of us. Like I said in many posts, we waiting in our seats for 10 hours, NO ONE was going to push their way in our area - LOL I have to say over 1/2 of the crowd were in their 20's or even younger. A LOT of kids. I left with beer and confetti all over me - LOL

A U2 tribute band opened and then a Rush tribute band opened before Styx. Now I know why I can't stand U2! LOL

I was thrown a Tommy pic before the show, which was great. I met a few of the road crew and they are a lot of fun. I'm still waiting for a phone call on when to go to that golf thing - LOL

Most of my friends that went are Larry fans so I was on Larry's side. I do have to agree with Larry drinking too much Red Bull - LOL He posed for a lot of pictures for me and made sure they turned out right, which was kind of funny during the show - LOL All the guys posed the entire night for all the pictures during the show.

Who has seen a recent Styx show? Is it me or is TMTOMH really slooooooooow?? I thought it was way too slow or something changed about it, that kind of bugged me.

I do like that "One With Everything Song". The new song "Just Be" isn't bad, I just heard it once and that was last night.

It was still hard to listen to Larry do Dennis' songs, but that's just me. The spinning keyboards drove me nuts and the girls in my area loves his ass so he showed that most of the concert - LOL A few of the guy photographers by me kept making comments for him to turn around and face the crowd more, that was funny and the girls yelled for him to keep showing his ass - LOL

Todd is amazing! The Medley drove me nuts because I wanted to hear ALL the songs, not just snippets especially Mademoiselle!!! UGH! That will always bother me like I said in the past. It was funny when "Mr. Roboto" came on and the crowd went totally crazy and louder and louder!!

"Snowblind" was good, love that song. I can't stand "Miss America", no offense. During the Walrus song the crowd sang the whole thing and went totally crazy.

If anyone has any questions about the concert or songs just let me know. I'm still too tired to post all the details.

Here's a few pictures from last night.

They didn't play "Suite Madame Blue" last night.

On a very positive note, what I'm noticing at all these Dennis and Styx concerts are all the very young kids that are at these shows. I'm talking about kids that are 10 to 25, singing to almost every song. Our great music has been passed along to generation to generation, it's wonderful to keep it alive! IMO

But then again, you have my kids that fight over which song to listen to in the van first, this week the fight is between: "Borrowed Time" and "I'm Okay". I don't know if that's a good thing that they know the music that great - LOL

Just saw Dennis DeYoung and Rik Emmitt in Atlantic City recently. DDY had Glen Burtnik with him. I have "souveniers" of it.

The AC show, eh? Interesting. HOw'd it get a recording with the HOB security?

The Morristown show had no security.
