It was a very, very, very hot day. I'm sunburned again! LOL Froy and I ended up sitting next to each other somewhere in the front. The crowd wasn't the greatest. Due to the time, a few songs were cut. He did add "Black Wall". I thought Dennis sounded great like usual. I enjoyed the show and meeting my friends down there. Glen is so fricken great! I'm so happy to see him on stage and the energy he brings!

I took 267 pictures, I love my new camera!

Here's just a few.

I wish I could have been there to collect on my bet with Suite. I was on vacation all week and time got away from me. I heard the crowd was small but I’m sure he put on a good show. :D

Great photos suite

The crowd did suck and it was hot as hell
I love it when its hot.
The problem with this was people were there to eat food not sit in 100 degree heat and watch a show.
Kenny Wayne Shepard opened for Dennis and this 26 year old kid was on fire
He had Stevie Ray Vaughans band backing him up and wow it sure sounded just like Stevie
He has a great future ahead of him

IMO its time for Dennis to put together a new show
Its getting to be too long of a time period playing the same songs.
He needs to add a horn section and add WHY Me and Nothing Ever Goes as Planned
Also Born For Adventure and Paradise should be added Babe and his 36 years should be knocked out
Also his wife should be off the stage
I do love Dawn Marie 's replacement she is smoking hot .

Glen also needs to sing 3 songs not 1 and he needs to be turned way up
He is a fun guy
At one point he kissed the girl who was doing the signing on the side of the stage .
Class act Glen Burtnick I hope he stays .

I'm aware of that...I was not trying to say DDY looks like JP NOW....I was comparing him to JP circa 1990 AD.

And seriously...what is DDY doing holding aloft Roboto's severed head? Reminds me of an Al Qaeda video.

Besides the heat, would the Western (Golf) Open and the Nascar Race have been a bad weekend to have this concert up there? Bad timing all around, took fans from all over the area it seems.

I've said before that his wife needs not be on the stage, but it's his show, so, what can we do?

And it's just the same without your NASCAR fans...

The new Will Farrell movie looks funny tho. As funny as a Will Farrell movie can be, anyway.

NASCAR sucks, indeed.

Sorry about your bones. :-D

I highly doubt Ferrell will ever top "Anchorman". That movie rules.

"CANNONBALL!!!"

You didn't even bring me back any food at the concert. Thank goodness that guy next to me shared his watermelon and cherries! I'm still hungry!

Thanks sunburned Robin, you're awesome, I'm so glad that I finally met you! I was too lazy to go anywhere, it was way too hot. Then Mike comes back telling me how he had this great roast beef sandwich or something, then I was starving to death!

Froy, did Dennis do Great Balls of Fire at Chicago?

Sorry I've been gone for so long, been up north working! I just took a few days off, drove 12 hours (or so) to Calgary from where I was working to see DDY on July 11th.

We pretty much got the standard setlist, but no Desert Moon and no Show Me The Way (Thank god.. Still don't like the Accapella Version!) BUT we got Great Balls of Fire and Glen sang a Little Richard tune (I think it's called Feelin Satisfied or something like that).. I'd always wanted to hear DDY sing Great Balls, and he nailed it!

One thing I did notice about the Calgary show (No Piano btw) was Dennis playing more keyboards, especially during Pieces of Eight, Grand Illusion, etc.

I do have pics.. Coming soon!

Man I can't wait to see him again in Edmonton this November!

Glen adds so much more to this show.. Just what Dennis needs to show that he can still rock!

Oh, Dennis played in front of about 2000 drunk Cowboys and Cowgirls, but I can say the crowd was definately into it and he had them in the palm of his hand all night long!

He even said "I have a lot of dreams, some good, some I can't say in public, but I NEVER thought I'd ever see 2000 Cowboys singing "Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto!" That's Amazing!

DDY hasn't done GBoF since one of the symphonic shows a few years back as an encore. Guess he is "un-mothballing" it.

He's been doing more for awhile, but still not enough if you ask me. There was awhile there where he was virtually doing nothing, so this is an improvement IMHO
