Ebay ticket buyers beware

Postby voiceofreason » Mon Jul 10, 2006 10:41 pm

Just a note for those of you who purchase on Ebay- BEWARE of Friday5pm. He will write you privately and tell you the seat numbers, then send something else. When you try to start a claim, he denies that he ever told you the seat numbers. Thus you are left with a pair on the outside aisle that you would have NEVER purchased at that price! Just FYI......

Can't you forward the messages to Ebay to prove the numbers were given? I would think all that stuff can be documented. If this person is a "power seller," I doubt ebay will do much aboutit, however. Power sellers make ebay a lot of money, so they tend to look the other way, sadly.

Regardless, it's always good to be extra cautious when buying stuff like this online. Or anywhere.

A few months ago, I had a ticket for a Styx/charity event here in my hometown. The "floor" seats were taken by the VIP's (at about $500 a seat), and the rest (upper levels) were sold at regular price. I had the front row of that section, overlooking all the rich bastards in the good seats. lol...At any rate, when I was picking up my ticket at will call, I was stopped by a scalper claiming to have 13th row from the stage, so I asked to see the ticket, and it was indeed 13th row in MY section, which was NOWHERE NEAR the stage, believe me. He didn't seem impressed when I called him on his bullsh*t either.
