New Tour - "The True Voices" of Rock Tour 2007

Since this board is so dead, I grabbed this from "This Board Is Dead" thread - LOL

You can look out for this tour Spring/Summer of 2007. This tour is an all day event, one stage. These are the "Voices" that made "their" bands famous. They are no longer with "their" bands which are still on tour with various "lead" singers. They are getting together sponsored by VH1 Classic. I'm sorry, I don't know who would open or close these shows, I know they'll be mixing up the line-ups city to city depending on the region in which these bands were popular.

Whoever from LRB would be Glenn Shorrock since he sang on most the hits.

You would also include John Farnham who sang on LRB's The Other Guy, We Two & Your Driving Me Out Of My Mind and had a buncha hits in other countries too.

Why not just include BSG...I'd pay to see them solo, no need to have a bunch of other oldsters along for the ride. But, I doubt very much that tour is ever coming to the US.

Also, I just saw a Brian Wilson special on Dish...I wouldn't mind seeing him in concert either.

Triumph were sort of in limbo after Rik left them in 1988. Then they put out Edge of Excess and toured in 1993 with Phil X. on guitar and Gil Moore taking over all the lead vocals. Since then all has been quiet in their camp except for the press they did a few years ago when Triumph Live at the Us Festival DVD was released.
Supertramp reformed without Roger in 1996 and toured in 1997 and 2002. They said '02 was to be their last tour but are mulling another, last I heard. I'd love to see them do a reunion jaunt with Roger back in!
Ambrosia usually does a handful of shows per year since they reformed in 1989. David Pack began to miss shows from 1995 on since he got busy with producing. In 2001 he left them for good.

I wish BSG would come here too, monker, but I think you're right about that.

As for Triumph, there's nothing in their immediate future about touring without Rik Emmett.

There's so much bad blood there it's not even funny.

But, if you get a chance to see Rik play a solo show you'll hear a LOT of the Triumph classics and honestly, they sound much better!

Well that is if you are seeing a non-unplugged show or a "specialty" show that Rik has been known to do.

Roger Hodgson is actually doing a lot of touring here in Canada. I know a lot of people are miffed because when he came through this summer here in Edmonton, he played the Telus stage at Klondike Days (now changed to "Capitol Exibition") for the price of admission (like 12 bucks) into the grounds.

Now he's coming back and playing the newly renovated Jubilee Auditorium and charging 70 bucks a pop!

But I'm sure he'll do well, since a Hodgson less Supertramp played Edmonton in 02 to 6000 people.. So I'm sure there's fans abound!
