Not on the shelf, doesn't mean sold out. Buy it off amazon.ca if you want it

Indeed, many artists don't have their material at big retail chains. It could mean a variety of things.

Peace

Well I can honestly say I have seen his dvd and his double live in Walmart, Target, and Best Buy.

Nothing against Gowan. Hope it sells well for him.

I think that your best bet at finding this masterpiece will be at your nearby K-Mart or Montgomery Wards.

No Froy, this is a LIVE DVD, not a DVD of past videos..

Besides, it's a Much Music concert, so it's them releasing it, not necessarily Gowan. They are re-releasing all sorts of their Big Ticket Concert specials on DVD the last few years.

Be expecting Triumph, Glass Tiger, Honeymoon Suite, Platinum Blonde and other 80's Canadian rock acts to be having releases in the next year or so.

If it is Gowan's own music, I might buy it. His own music from I have seen on youtube is real good. If it is Dennis's songs, I will not buy it. Hearing his version on the Styxworld 2001 of "Rocking the Paradise", I cannot listen to anything else. He doesn't have the emotions in Dennis's songs that Dennis did.Dennis wrote Lady, and the Best of Times for his wife Suzanne and sings them with emotions behind them. Larry sings them because they were hits, and fans want to hear them. If he does "Babe" anytime soon I will be suprised and curious to see how it sounds.

You mean the co-founder, writer of "7" top 10 songs. Helped the band to 7 "GOLD" albums, 2 "Platinum", 3 "triple Platinum" albums and 1 "double Platinum" album. That Guy???? Who also has a triple platinum in canada now of his own or someone else from Styx. Although the albums above just wasn't "the other guy's" music and the whole band, but Gowan was no where in site.

Not saying anything bad about Gowan, but a lot of good about Dennis :D .

As I said before, he is a great performer with his own music, but I already said that :D.

So not real sure.

Just to clarify...Babe wouldn't be played by the current lineup. It was done once in Japan as a special request. No disrespect to Gowan, but listening to it, was not a pleasant experience. Gowan has his own style.

I myself do not care for his singing, for me he sounds like he represents the lollipop guild, even on his own material. again, I have absolutely nothing against him, I just honestly don't care for his singing.

I'm sure nearly everyone on this board has hashed to death the should the current lineup play the songs or shouldn't they. It's a never ending circle jerk that ultimately goes nowhere and pleases no one.

Peace

I think the band has no choice but to play his songs. If they didn't they would probably loose many fans that enjoyed the ballads like him and Tommy play, because those songs fans enjoyed and most fans go to shows wanting to hear Lady, and Come Sail Away.

By and large they have eliminated most of his songs. They do still play those songs, and on occasion perform GI, or SMB. And so it goes.

I am guessing SMB is Suit Madam Blue? Who sings it? If Tommy Sings it, it might be ok, but please don't tell me if Gowan or Jy sings it. Jy doesn't have the voice for it (like Lorelie), and I am not sure what it will sound like by Larry.

Is there an audio file somehwere of Larry singing Babe? Just curious about what it sounded like.

It would be Gowan singing it....and yes it would be Suite Madame Blue

as for Babe...I know it's out there somewhere. I have it around here somewhere. I'll see if I can dig it out.
