Thanks for these, NH. I know I have them buried in my CD collection somewhere, but it is cool to have your downloads of them as well.

LOVE Born for Adventure. Froy is right. Smokin'! Wouldn't it be nice to hear Dennis, with his still amazing vocal range, sing this in concert again. :)

Froy, the "Welcome A&M Recording Artists STYX" live tracks (Born For Adventure, Lorelei and Lady) that are out there are from Providence Rhode Island, like 1976. The quality is really good on these tracks.

There is a Bootleg from Toronto (Two I've heard, one from 76, and one from 78) that they do 22 Years on. I have that one but the quality is fair at best. Nowhere near the quality of the King Biscuit Flour Hour show that I talked about above.

The Toronto show is the only "full" bootleg I know of. But there must be a second one, because there's another show from 76 which includes "You Need Love" which I thought was from Toronto, but it doesn't fit ANYWHERE on that show. The quality is the same, but it doesn't flow with that show. Maybe it is from the Providence RI, show.

Based on the way I have them listed on my computer, these are probably the Providence show. They are all bracketed the same way.

This is the KBFH taped in Providence, RI which was edited down to what KBFH aired both on reels (I have that) as well as later on the CDs.

I have always said Styx circa 1977 and earlier live is a much different band. You can tell they are hungry.

The 77 one I circulated to someone maybe 15 years ago and I think it made the rounds. It's winter I believe. I love to hear that they still did WN stuff that late. GI changed it all ...

I need to find time to organize what I have, my lists are a complete mess. These are the "older" boots I have. I have that A&M records presents: Styx, but I don't know which boot it is or what I have it titled under. Most of these, the years and titles might be wrong, sorry!

This is one of my favorite boots:

Toronto 4-18-1976

Born For Adventure
22 Years
Lorelei
You Need Love
Suite Madame Blue
Lady
Midnight Ride

Here's one that's titled:

Styx Studio Jam 1-1-1977 Chicago

I love hearing Dennis laughing at the beginning and I love how they joke between songs!

The Grand Illusion
Lorelei
Mademoiselle
Fooling Yourself
Suite Madame Blue
Light Up
Come Sail Away
Lady
Midnight Ride
Miss America

King Biscuit Flour Hour 1976

Intro to Styx King Biscuit Flour Hour
Born For Adventure
Lady
Lorelei

1975 Equinox Canada

Totally live concert, not that greatest boot - someone yells "Roundabout" right before "You Need Love" - LOL

Born For Adventure
22 Years
Lorelei
You Need Love
Suite Madame Blue
Lady
Midnight Ride

1977 - Crystal Ball Tour / Toronto

Long introduction at the beginning.

Put Me On
Lorelei
Shooz
Mademoiselle
Light Up
Suite Madame Blue
Crystal Ball
Clair de Lune/Ballerina
Lady
Midnight Ride
Guitar Solo/s
22 Years

These are the shows I have from the classic lineup:

Styx Studio Jam 1-1-1977 Chicago also known as "Styx Live @ Mantra Studios"

The Grand Illusion
Lorelei
Mademoiselle
Fooling Yourself
Suite Madame Blue
Light Up
Come Sail Away
Lady
Midnight Ride
Miss America

1977 - Crystal Ball Tour / Toronto

Put Me On
Lorelei
Shooz
Mademoiselle
Light Up
Suite Madame Blue
Crystal Ball
Clair de Lune/Ballerina
Lady
Midnight Ride
Guitar Solo/s
22 Years

I also have another Styx Radio Special from Chicago, setlist:

01 - The Grand Illusion
02 - Lady
03 - Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man)
04 - Sweet Madam Blue
05 - Come Sail Away
06 - Midnight Ride
07 - Miss America

The Main Event - Toronto again from 1977

01 Grand Illusion
02 Suite Madame Blue
03 Crystal Ball
04 Come Sail Away
05 Lady
06 Miss America
07 Fooling Yourself

Again, not sure of the track listing, I'll have to listen to it again and convert it to wav/mp3.

I also have "Live And Rare" Collection:

1 Born For Adventure (From RI)
2 Lorelei (From RI)
3 22 Years (Toronto 76)
4 You Need Love (Toronto 76)
5 Midnight Ride (Unknown - Maybe from one of the above shows)
6 Borrowed Time (Unknown)
7 Great White Hope (Unkown)
8 Lights (Unkown)
(6,7,8 all from same show 1979???)
9 I'm Ok (San Fran 1978)
10 Queen Of Spades (San Fran 1978)
11 JP Drum Solo (San Fran 1978)

Styx - Pieces Of Eleven??? Live San Fransico 1978

Now on this disc Come Sail Away was the 1st track, but I don't think that would be first. It sounds like it could part of this show though.

Mixed Disk with Styx FM Specials, Return to Chicago on WLS, King Biscuit, etc

2. DJ Talks Styx "Back At Home In Chicago" - Talks to Dennis about "Lady, etc" WLS
3. Tommy asks John "Where the Doctor Is" Crowd Chants "Come On Out!"
4. Miss America
5. The Grand Finale
6. Born For Adventure (Again RI show)

The other tracks on this disk are from the RI and 2nd Chicago FM radio shows.

07 Sukiyaki
08 Boat On The River
09 Come Sail Away
10 Half Penny Two Penny

I would like to find the show from 1979 though. That's about the only "tour" that I don't have a boot for!

in case anyone was wondering, the mp3's were recordeded at 320kbps. The highest Real Player allows.

Yeah. I noticed! Thanks so much, NH, for posting them. I think I have them somewhere, but it was fun to just download and listen and not have to do a major search.

'preciate it!
