That house is in Austin.

Hank Horton used to play with JY. What's your point Froy? You want to be equal time for Dennis, or just be the annoying jerk?

Just kidding! I keep forgetting that he's in the band!

I loved him in The Baby's :)

Here's a few pictures I took of Ricky, just for you Brandon :)

Brandon-

AUSTIN. Houston is about, oh, 8 hours away from Austin.

Think Toronto vs. Calgary.

Austin is the state capitial and home to a really cool music scene. Hank is great though, and like many a hired musician, is playing with Dennis after playing with JY. He does a kicking version of lorelei.

Oh, and Froy? If we didn't talk about fill ins, why do we mention Glen? Could it be his musicianship? Ricky's a great guy, just really quiet.

Brandon, don't let Froy get to you, as I also discovered, he's just upset all the time.

Chris, I think Calgary vs Toronto is a bit too far. Cause that's like a 2 day drive apart.

I would say it's more like the distance between Toronto and say Montreal, or Toronto and St. Saint Marie.

But I knew what you meant!

Ricky has a home at Lakeway, which is a beautiful area west of Austin on Lake Travis.

Houston and Austin are 3 hours apart.

I live smack dab (to talk a little Texan) between the two cities. :)

Oh and GO KINKY! :D

Bugsy

As my Texas born mother starts yelling at me.....

I sadly don't know Texas geography all that well. I admit it. I do agree Go Kinky. And Go Horns while we're at it.

Didn't he also tour with Creedence Clearwater Revisited?

I have got to agree with Froy 100% on this one.

If we never talk about Ricky it is because he is replacing a replacement.

The replacement that he replaced is one AWESOME singer & guitarist, but even by his own admission has had very little impact with the band Styx.

I would argue this point with Glen, but as far as Ricky is concerned my best answer would be Ricky who?????

Sparkey the Dog, Tommy's 11th wife, or Yaz and his motercycle stunts have more of an impact with me

I liked Ricky in Bad English. Beyond that, he plays bass and in a band like Styx, he just gets overshadowed. Most bass players do unless you're someone like Billy Sheehan.

You want to talk about Bass players lets talk about Chris Squire
Geddy Lee Paul Mc Cartney Tony Levin

Rickie Phillips is nothing to talk about filling in for Chuck Panazzo lets talk about that.

Probably because he is a sucky sub.

I would say that the Bass part in most Styx songs is background only. In fact, I can only remember the Paradise Theater as having had any standout Bass parts at all...see Rockin' the Paradise, Too Much Time and Nothing Ever Goes as Planned for examples. So whether it's Chuck, Glen or Ricky...you'd never really notice a difference unless you looked at 'em.

Saw Ricky play live in 1980 with The Babys. His hair was alot shorter then. I hear he even dated Linda Blair for awhile. Boy, she sure loved those rockers. Rick Springfield & Tommy were just two of the others she was romantically involved with.
He's pretty good with Styx, though I have to say that I really miss Mr. Burtnik in the post Dennis(non froy approved) grouping....

Last night I had this dream .Ricky bass man was in it and so was froy and rajah.Rick was in Dennis' band ,and all of us from the Styx board were at the the show.Great time was had by all .After the show was over, froy and ramjam was high fiving each other about how great the show was and how much the 2 of them loved Rick being part of the action and what a great bass player he was ,and he even had really nice hair.
Then I woke up, and Rick was in Styx and all of a sudden froy and whatsisface did not like him at all.
It was just so strange.
Has any of you folks experienced anything like that??
