Just goes to show that this guy will say ANYTHING as long as it makes him appear to be in a favorable light. The guy is as transparent as some of the bras the 40 something Styx fans throw up at the current incarnation of the band.

Don't forget less then a 1/4 of the footage filmed for Behind The Music (and what that was 6 years ago?) was actually aired. Every band member and Dennis said that.

I still recall the scathing comments that Dennis said in 99 about Glen joining the band (while Chuck was dying mind you.. classy huh?) and the fans of the band who were going to see the lineup in 1999.. yes the FANS.. his bread and butter. It took me a long time for me to get over the fact that Dennis starting to attack the fans. Did I take it personally or the wrong way? Yes. Then over time with more information I realized I shouldn't have taken it that seriously and it was time to move on. I realized both sides were happy and there was more to life then this silly little fued.

What did Dennis say about Glen rejoining Styx?? I have never heard any of this.

Did'nt Glen play on Dennis's last Styx appearance? It was the Childrens Miracle Network concert. I taped that concert and for some reason I think Glen played and Chuck didnt.

The last ever DDY concert with Styx featured: Dennis, Tommy, JY, Glen and Todd. Is that correct??

Please post what Dennis said about Glen taking Chucks place for the Brave New world tour.

I heard from a very close source to the band that Dennis was not thrilled at all that Glen was brought in to do background vocals and play bass on the album.

Dennis also commented "Styx is Me, Tommy, JY and Chuck" nobody else. Even though at the time this was said Chuck was gravely ill and couldn't possibly do it (Dennis and people close to the band knew about Chuck's condition, the general public didn't). He lumped Glen in with the "Replacement players".

Since 99, Dennis and Glen have again buried the hatchet and enjoy working with each other again.

You are correct Dennis's last Styx show was him, GB, TS, JY and Todd.

Agreeing with Jodes here. I think many factors have come into play to soften the very hard views expressed in "Behind the Music." And there was plenty of unaired footage for both sides. This is a known fact. I think all the members of Styx who participated in that show would be happy to bury it and forget it.

None of the members of Styx, past and present, can deny that "Mr. Roboto" opened a lot of doors for them to continue in the public eye.

And remember ... the BTM was about telling a story, of which they painted DDY as Dr. Evil. Out of the hours and hours of stuff on the cutting room floor, I'm sure some was flattering to DDY, and others damning about TS or JY. Or they had a longer quote and shortened it and took it out of context to make whatever point they were trying to emphasize.

Unfortunately, the BTM fueled a lot of fires which is unfortunate.

There were a lot of people that supported Dennis that were interviewed and ended up on the cutting room floor. I think I was told about 6 hours of footage or so.

BTM sure did fuel a lot of fires, big time!

Remember that TS was high as a kite in 1983. He got sober, but the end of PT before he cleaned up and recorded Ambition is not his stellar period personally or professionally; it was full of highs and lows.

I am pretty sure he went to Derek Sutton I think during the Japan tour for PT and begged him not to let DDY do another concept album. Well, clearly that didn't happen. Yet, it features some of my favorite TS work ("Haven't We Been Here Before" and "Just Get Through This Night").

Either way, it's easy to criticize 15, 20, 25 years later. I don't take anything said these days too seriously. I mean, it's in your best interests to put yourself and your current project in the best light. Where is JY criticizing him for doing the Shaw/Blades project, yet in my interview for Cyclorama he didn't think solo projects were a good idea? (just an example of inconsistencies in Styx ... of which there are many over the years of he said/he said)

Wow... I can't imagine JY being critical of others doing solo albums. Perhaps it's because JY could write two decent songs on one album if he used both hands and someone drew him a map. His solo albums were pathetic. I'm sure he'd MUCH rather someone write decent music that he can be a part of and take credit for. Thats a much nicer situation for Mr. Douchebag Legend.

It's easy to be down on solo records when your SUCK as bad as JY's did.
