Hi! New here and I'm going on Friday for my first Styx show in 25 years! Kilroy was my very first concert (I'm that old LOL) and I saw Tommy solo in the 80's too. Haven't been back and want to know what the crowd will be like?

expect to see quite a few under25's there as well as the stalwart loyals. Since 2001 the percentage of younger people at their shows has gone up quite a bit.
Enjoy the show

Thanks RossUK. Interesting about the ages of the crowd. I've always loved Styx and I'm looking forward to the show as well as checking out the Borgota. Think there'll be many kids in the audience? I think the casino has an age restriction but I don't know what it is. I know it's 21 for drinking but I'm not sure if that includes concerts.

The last Styx concert that I went to I got up to take a piss during the mimed version of Blue Collar Man.
Anyway, this bald guy has his crutches in the aisle, I dont see them and,I trip over em. I then proceed to go flying over this ladys walker, and I land right smack dab in some vomit. It hurts like hell so I get up and there are these dentures stuck into my left thigh.
I then hear this god aweful crying and directly to my right there is a 6 to 8 month baby with her mothers bra sitting on top of her head. If that aint bad enough at that percise moment her mother lifts up her top and I see these boobs hanging down around her knees. She has a JY tatooed on her right breast, or it might of been her thigh.
Upon seeing this out of pure horror I look to my left as quickly as possible and there is this 13 or 14 year old with braces on. She is holding up a sign that reads 'Tommy Please Marry Me- It's perfectly Legal We Are Fourth Cousins"
Anything is possible auidence wise at a current Styx show!!!!
At any rate I sincerley hope that you enjoy the show!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the visuals Yogi. That's exactly the type of audience I'm hoping for! Toothless, vomiting and saggy women with infants under their bras would definitely give me an edge in catching a wink from TS.

I tried to add a smilie but I don't know if it worked. When I said I'm new here I meant new to any and all messageboards EVER! Please forgive me, but I'm a pretty quick learner.

I'm getting stoked for tomorrow! I have standing only tickets. Will I be able to get up front without too much hassle? I saw the B52's at the Trump Marina and the crowd was totally mixed ages and you could literally dance up to the front row and high five the band (if you were so inclined). Never been to the Borgota. How kind are the fans up front for Styx? I'm hoping for a few trips down front, a few trips to the back, a few to the bar, etc. I like to move around, so standing only is good for me. However, I don't dig hassles so if one finds me, I'll be bummed. Just out for a good time, not to piss anyone off.

You usually have quite a mix in the front & center Styx crowd. You can count on alot of movement up front based on the following:
1. Many people may leave early depending on how late they locally serve the blue plate specials
2. Lactating mothers leaving to change tops.
3. Diaper changing
4. Strokes
5. Depends changing
6. Kids leaving because of curfews & homework
7. Water fountain breaks to wash down Viagra
8. Men going to the restroom to reapply Rogaine
9. Parents leaving to try and locate their children.
10. Some leave on account of Gowans spinning keyboards
11. Some leave when they hear Gowans voice.
12. Nursing home bus decides to leave early.
Shi t, come to think of it about 30- 45 minutes into most Styx shows NO one is up front!!
I almost forgot many people up front just cant stand up that long based on age. Some are too old to stand & some havent leared how to stand yet.
If you are in fairly decent shape you will have no problem getting up front.
Enjoy the show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yogi.. I can laugh at most of your comments, but the whole 13 year olds and the back stage thing, thats nearly crossing the line..

It's deleted!!!
It was more a shot at Tommy's 15+ wives with each one becoming younger.
I TOTALLY agree with what you said!!!!!!

Yogi your reply is priceless! It didn't even dawn on me that you were serious. Thanks for the laugh. Is anyone interested in a run down of the show? Not a set list, but more a crowd review? Seems everyone here already knows what they'll play anyway, which BTW is fine by me!!! And anyone with a heart, please wish me luck at the blackjack tables!!!! Oh, and the slots!!! Oh, and not getting injured tripping over someone's walker at the show!!! --Jo

Have a grand time, Jo and hope you win your investment in the trip back at least!

Last April, Suite, Ash, StyxfanNH and I met up in Atlantic City for the DDY/Glen show.
A good time was had by all, .... I think....
I actually came back with some winnings. Only they were in the form of a ticket. I forgot to cash it in!!
People here have pretty much stopped giving show reviews, but I always enjoy reading them, no matter which "side" of the Styx equation is being reviewed.

Hey, I like reading reviews. Regardless of preference, someone sharing their experience is a good thing. Enjoy and good luck.
