Towere Records Is Closing!

Postby jimmy19029 » Wed Nov 22, 2006 3:17 am

Just went there today. CDs & DVDs are 50% off. The Styx is GONE already. I think Suite & Sadie got there before me! Many other artists are gone too. But there are still some goodies left. I snapped up the latest Pure Prairie League, a Peter Cetera live CD(for $3!) and a nice Bowie Double Set Collection. Wish they still Had Chicago At Carnegie Hall but it was gone too....

Sniffle. Did Suite tell you....that's it. she's out of the will

No that's too bad. But it's a changing world we live in. I guess it was inevitable...sigh.

At least you got some things you will enjoy.

Peace

I was having a discussion the other day with someone and we both wondered when CD's will become obsolete. I don't give them too many more years, but music would have to be deliverable in ways other than just online before that happens.

Kind of amazing how many formats we have gone through in our lives. And boy doesn't that make me feel old...don't anyone answer that.

And back to packing.

Thanks Suite! They were great buys. Maybe it was a good thing there wasn't more left. I might've spent more than I could afford to spend! I read about the closing online somewhere and have been a regular Tower customer since they opened in my area 20 years ago. Tower Books was my favorite bookstore of all time till they closed THAT several years ago. I was in mourning then. There are at least three Tower Records in my area. Guess the closest one to you would be Chicago since you say Milwaukee has none. All the good record?CD stores in my area are gone or going. The nearest good ones are now 40-60 miles away!
