Is Queer Eye still on......because from the looks of recent Tommy Shaw pictures I think he would make the perfect guest for that show. He looks really haggard. How he thinks he looks good the way he does is beyond me. Let's sign Tommy up!

Good one Raj. We know all fifty+ year olds who don't look like teenagers have obviously taken drugs.
As for the content of the original poster I agree, Tommy needs a makeover in the worst way.

Well, how should Tommy look and dress at age 52? I know sometimes he needs to get a good night sleep, but how should he look?
This is one of my favorite Tommy pictures

Well since Tommy has admitted to doing about every drug that ever existed in quite heavy doses, I don't think that is much of a stretch. The guy added years to his looks by not taking very good care of himself. Smoking, drinking, snorting, the rock and roll lifestyle will do that.

It's really sad that he really had to live that life! He always looked very young and I suppose that if he didn't do the drugs/alcohol/everything else, he would still look totally young.
Very sad!

Maybe, maybe not.. I think Tommy just more or less looks his age. He might even look a little younger.. I'm always surprised how young DDY looks, outside of the gray hair.

Raj, we can always count on you to take things to the lowest common denominator. They guy looks like he's in his fifties, nothing more nothing less.

He's a man in his 50's... and judging by my 6" 220lb self, I can only hope that I'm in as good of shape when I am his age as he is. Say what you will about anything else, but I've seen people look a WHOLE lot worse at 52.
Overall, the band looks good at their age. Except for JY. He's put on a lot of weight and needs to re-grow the 'stache. He looks very ordinary with short hair and being clean shaven.
Just my .02

I say let Tommy be Tommy. He likes the rocker look and if he is happy with it, then I don't see a problem. He certainly looks a lot better than many of his rock contemporaries.
I personally am not a fan of the scraggly goatee and long messy hair on any guys who are too old to wear that look, but that is simply my personal preference.

Shaka, I'm not saying anything more or less than what Tommy says. He always is talking about his past drug abuses - I am just making the connection that it ain't real good for your body to do that. I don't think anyone would disagree.

I tend to agree. Despite the drugs and the questionable facial hair, Tommy is in decent shape for someone who is in his 50s. Look at your average fan of Styx who is the same age and look at Tommy. Who's in better shape?
JY's new "look" is funny if you ask me. He tries to snarl and looks goofy w/o the stache.

I wouldn't say JY has put on a lot of weight. Sure he's put on some, but he's not a 20 something year old guy any more. Jy looks kinda out of place with the band because he isn't sporting the "Rock n roll" look like the others are. I always thought it was ironic that when Jy cut his hair, the pthers gre theirs out.

The best look of Styx IMO was the 1980s look with all the members having short hair (except for JY of course)

I'm not exactly sure when that photo was taken, but I'm guessing it was slightly before "Kilroy Was Here", right? I think the "Kilroy" period and the "Pieces Of Eight" period were the coolest looks for the band.

Whatever Raj. There are a myriad of less sinister reasons that people age yet you immediately went for the druggie thing. Seriously, does being a bitter loser come naturally to you?
Tommy kicked drugs many years ago. Let it go.

You ARE kidding right? Tommy looked awful with short hair. AWFUL AWFUL. In Suite's picture he looks like a chick in drag.
They look like the 60's met Devo. It sucked.

I think the jury is still out on whether he has or has not kicked drugs.......
And I'm not bitter at all, but thanks for asking anyway.

Dennis would still look like he was somewhere in his late '40s if it wasn't for the gray hair. I think Tommy probably looks about his age; he's just not as clean cut as Mr. DeYoung, and does look a little more "tired".
Okay, I'm starting to freak myself out with all of the comments about the Styx guys this week; I think I'm going to go listen to Billy Bob burp before "Bourgeois Pig"; just to make sure everything's still cool.

Drugs or not, musicians who are on constant tour in their 50's can expect to age quite faster than those who are taking it easy around that age. It's just basic science when it comes to the body's response to stress. Tommy could shave the goatee and probably look ten years younger. Actually, both him and DeYoung both appear to have not aged much since the early 90's at least.
For example, recent photos of Steve Perry show that he actually looks younger than what he did just a few years ago. Of course, he's gotten himself back in shape, but he's been taking it easy and you can tell when someone is well rested.
