Saw this on Dennis's site. He talks about his wife and the years they been together. He also talks about his new Rock Album.
Hey Everybody,
With so many unbelievable things happening to me this past year I have not had the time to put it all into perspective.
First, let me say that Suzanne and I have just celebrated our 37th year of marriage and as has been the case on more than one occasion the celebration took place was while I was performing. (No, not that kind of performing you nasty little buggers, I'm referring to singing and playing piano.) Many times over the years Suzanne has allowed me to put my professional needs over birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and family vacations.
Suzanne, for this I say thanks for always being supportive of me in every way. I have said this before but it bears repeating as to how fortunate I was to meet you and fall in love with you when you were just 15. You are the only girl I have ever loved and I feel lucky to have had you in my life. If there ever was a guy who made the perfect choice for a spouse it's me. Happy anniversary, and here's to 37 more. ( Let's see that will take us into our 90's, egad's!)
From the multi platinum success in Canada, to Star Academy, to Canadian Idol to Celebrity Duets to VH-1's Big IN "06" to countless usage's of my songs in movies and TV, to a Yamaha endorsement, I feel a bit overwhelmed by my good fortune. Never in my wildest dreams did I think such things were possible yet again. Suzanne, Tim, Dianna and I have worked very hard these last four years with little guarantee for success. But hell, a lot people work just as hard and never see results, I know I have been one of them. So to all whom have helped make this possible I send my heartfelt thanks.
To name a few: Paul Jessup, Maurice and George and everyone at DEP. To John Verant and Rounder Records Chris Taylor, Dave Harris, Randy Lennox at Universal, Julie Snyder, John Oshima, Paul Setzer, my band and my LD Matthew DeYoung, my publicist CarrieAnn DeYoung. Also Sujata Murthy, Todd Nakamine, Lori Lousararian, Our sound and road crews and Craig Bauer. Most importantly, to all of you who have come to my concerts and bought the CD and DVD, many thanks!
The threat is real! Yes it's true, I have been recording my first solo rock album since 1888, I'm mean 1988, and it just feels like 1888. The working title is "Back to the 10 on Desertchild". Just kidding it's actually "The Grand Pieces of Paradise". I have decided to return to my roots and I feel this is my edgiest and rockin'est record ever.(Hell everybody says this same BS don't they?) Truth be told the songs do not suck, and If your interested in a middle aged white guy who can still sing high you just might like it. For more cryptic discussion of this coming "masterpiece," keep an eye on this web site.

Lame title.
Dennis, move FORWARD. Quit looking back. I'm surprised it's not "Suzanne's Yummy Favs" or something.
At least it's a rock album. THANK GOD. Hopefully the guitar sounds are meatier than on the other solo
albums. Whatever that guy was playing through we terrible.
Good news, even if a dopey title. Back to 10 on DesertChild is a better title...

Vey good read. Dennis has always had a sense of humor. One of the great things about the show I saw this past year was his chatting with the crowd.
I am looking forward to the new cd-ERIC

That's why when Glen's with Dennis he definately helps round out the band and take some of the pressure off of Dziallo.
I've heard the lineup when Glen's not in it and it's obvious that Tom does struggle with some of the parts which are intended to have two guitars. Just doesn't sound the same.
Glen brings not only his vocals, but a vital 2nd guitar role in DDY's band.

If the love story between Quebec and the music of Dennis DeYoung is lasting since years and years, it is becoming even more so since 2 days with our own rock star Eric Lapointe.
“The only place where he gets recognize when walking on the streets is in Montreal, and I think that is why Dennis DeYoung chose a Montreal artist to record a duet with him”, says Eric Lapointe who’s been working in the ex-leader of Styx’s studio in Chicago.
The story began, as we told in yesterday’s edition, when the record label DEP sent copies of albums of their artists to the star.
“I liked Eric for his voice. Especially on his live album “N’importe quoi” and the single “Marie Stone”, says Mr. DeYoung.
The first meeting took place last Tuesday. “When I got my first guitar at age 9, there were two songs that everybody wanted to play and those were “Stairway To Heaven” and “Suite Madame Blue”, explains Lapointe.
Always in his life
While he was never a groupie, Lapointe made it clear from the beginning. “The first thing I told him was that as far as I can remember, he was always a part of my life. That being said, we could move on and speak equal to equal, like two artists” says the artist who admits to never have thought that he would have to translate one of Dennis DeYoung’s text, let alone help him with his pronunciation in French… moreover, never did he thing he would give his opinion on the other songs on the album due out next Spring.
Simple, nice and respectful, the international star made everything is his power to make sure Eric felt at ease. He opened the doors of his domain in the Chicago suborns with two magnificent grand pianos, one to the left, one to the right.
“It’s on this one that I wrote “Suite Madame Blue”… and on the other, I wrote “Babe”, he told Eric.
Before starting to work, the two men exchanged on their careers and their methods of work. Just like that time when Eric opened for Styx at Parc des Iles in Montreal in 1996.
Perfect harmony
But, Dennis and Eric have a very different lifestyle: the first doesn’t drink or smoke, that says a lot. Despite their differences, they still are able to get along like two kids in a candy store, and they are both perfectionists.
"One Hundred Years From Tomorrow", is the song that DeYoung thought would fit best for a duet with Eric. “It puts the vocal harmonies up front and that is how we decided to sing it”, says DeYoung.
During the last month spent in Turks and Caïkos, Eric stayed in touch with Dennis. The two singers-songwriters exchanged English version (for M. DeYoung) and French version for Eric.
And then…
In Chicago, after having discussed their career paths, the two musicians sat together at the piano in order to get to know each other better, on a technical point as much as on a personal level.
The work in studio gave many versions of “One Hundred Years From Now”, including one in which Dennis sings the lyrics in French and Eric sings the ones in English. It is this version that will be released in Canada as the first single of the album.
Eric Lapointe comes back to the country today, but the work on the single “One Hundred Years From Now” is not over. The two artists will put their final touches in their respective studios.

This album of Dennis' sounds more intriguing all the time. Eric Lapointe is a well-regarded rock star up in Canada, I understand from what I have read. Kind of a bad boy, but apparently he and Dennis have found common ground.

Found music videos of him also on youtube, but most of the ones I saw were in french. Music sounds good though.
