For what it's worth, through all of my research, I have NEVER , ever heard anyone from the Dennis camp refer to Chuck in any defamatory way. JY, yes, LOL . . . Chuck, no. Obviously those guys were part of a general falling out and each of them has hurt and been hurt by the other in various ways because of the way the business of Styx has unfolded, but you have to remember that these are people who have known each other since they were 12 and 14, almost 45 years now. They formed the band together, played crappy little wedding gigs together, struggled and drove around in campers and station wagons together. They have failed together and succeeded together. They have been poor together and rich together. They have seen the best and the worst of each other. They are related by family somehow.
I really believe that out of everyone those guys stand the best chance of patching things up, and I hope they do for their own sake as human beings, even if it doesn't result in a Styx reunion. It's just sad to me that they are estranged when they gave each other everything they have. I see it all the time in this business, and it's the part of the business I have always hated, how it twists people like that until they can barely recognize themselves anymore. I really still believe that all of the Styx guys are fundamentally better people than their behavior toward each other would seem to suggest. The brutality of the business has just made them forget that sometimes.
