I wanna see a show in Canada - The Molson ampitheater in Toronto is a great venue and would be perfect for this!

Brandon.. Styx - Toronto.. NOT going to happen.

No promoter in Toronto is going to touch a show with Styx involved in it since the SARS fiasco a few years ago.

Plus, Styx hasn't played Toronto with a package deal since 2001. The REO/STYX/Journey didn't play there, and neither did the Nelson/Frampton/Styx tour the following year.

You're going to have to travel Stateside to see this tour.

This is why in my opinion there is not a better drummer than CP on this planet .....

Never been much of a CP fan. He is not bad by no means. Really liked his work on the first two Asia cds.

Best drummer to me..Neal Peart-ERIC

With the Shaw/Blades Influence CD about to come out. With Night Ranger about to put out a new CD. And with what looks like a bunch of positive reviews all around, I CANT believe we are NOT looking at a Shaw/Blades, Damn Yankees, Night Ranger/Styx tour this summer.

The above WOULD be the Classic Rock tour of the summer.

Talk about dropping the ball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What, like not releasing the CYO Christmas songs for Christmas?

Maybe there are plans to unite them in the fall/winter (if Styx can get out a new album) and run an indoor venue show.

But I agree with you Yogi, the common sense marketing for the band sucks.

Ah.. this again.. Styx/Night Ranger/Damn Yankees tour blah blah blah..

In 2004 we were presented/rumoured (Andrew reported it on this site) with a Night Ranger/Ted Nugent/Styx package (with a Damn Yankees mini-set during Ted's set).

Jack Blades was pumped for it then he said "Management on all sides didn't think it would be a good package tour for any of them". IE It wouldn't make any money.

Then all of a sudden it wasn't NR/TN/Styx but a Nelson/Frampton/Styx tour...

I'm still shaking my head about that one myself (luckily I didn't go).

So even 3 years ago management was shooting it down.. why would it be any different this time?

You mean managements decision to continually latch onto tours that let Styx play less minutes a show.

in 99 it was 3 hour shows.

Then it was 2 hour 15 minutes

then it was 90 minutes

then 70 minutes

then 2 hours on occasion

then 90 minutes

now probably only 70 minutes .

Makes you wanna shake your head, when you know the ex-member that ticks them off is consistenly doing 90 minute or 2 hour plus shows.

Well actually they weren't 3, they were 2 and a half.

I saw the Aug 22nd, 99 show at Silver Mountain Idaho and when Styx hit the stage it was 4:00 pm.. When they left it was 6:30.

But yeah it seems that the promoters are just wanting to buy the 70-85 minute shows, instead of the 2 hour shows nowadays.

Damn, why can“t there ever be this kind of AOR tours in Europe? This would be perfect line-up for me.

I have a pretty good recording from the 2 1/2 hour show at Beloit Riverfest in July 99. I think it was the 3rd or 4th show of the tour.

Yeah, I have like 3-4 shows from the early part of the tour, and like 10-12 of the 2000 tour from Canada, US, Germany, Japan, etc.

But at least technology has improved that you can go to shows and record them!

I know when I went to Dennis Deyoung at Reds back in November, there were LOTS of tapers on phones, etc.. none of it has been posted online, but I know it happened.

Only if my GF wouldn't have deleted the entire Desert Moon recording, I'd have that to remember!

Styx is playing at Casino Rama 3 shows in May 24-26.....it isn't too bad a ride from Toronto. Go see them there.

Joe, you have be 19 to go see the show at Rama. Brandon is like 15, hence why he was saying he wanted to see the Foreigner/Styx/Asia show in Toronto.
