Unless I miss my guess, that was from his 92 or 91 Flowers in the Dirt tour. He did that entire Abbey Road Medley as part of his closing the show. Fantastic.

Cool. I knew it wasn't from the Flower's in the Dirt Tour. While he played that on that tour, it definitely wasn't with George Martin conducting an orchestra and it wasn't with an all star band. In fact, it looks about the time that Flaming Pie came out (by Paul's appearance), possibly later. Great recording. I thought it might've been a Prince's Trust show or something. That is one dvd I haven't seen and I'd forgotten about. I know that he did Hey Jude there as well and Ringo came out and sang at the end with him. I remember there was a big buzz about that.
It was kind of a drag seeing Robbie Macintosh NOT playing the solo for "The End" since he had on the Flowers and Off the Ground tours. Robbie's a great guitar player and I'd much rather see him playing with Paul than Knoffler. Thanks for posting that. It was cool.
Yeah, I just can't get into Elton John anymore. I saw him on a tour a few years back where he just played piano and sang (which was a great idea). He didn't relate to the crowd AT ALL and seemed more concerned that the Diet Coke he was drinking constantly faced the audience (product placement?).
It was really weird. He'd play a song. Get up. Take a drink off of the diet coke. Put it down on the piano so the label was facing out. Walk around the piano. Sit again. Play another song. He might've said 20 words to the audience the entire night. That and just his crappy behaviour have put me right off of Elton. I'll never forget when he was on an awards show where Sam Kinnison was hosting and when Elton got the award, rather than thanking everyone, he proceeded to go into a tirade about Kinneson on live TV. What a dick. That was before the tour I saw. After I saw the concert, I ceased being a fan. He's an ass. Good songwriter, but just a jerk.
