Styx Movie

Postby RockInDetroit » Wed Feb 14, 2007 12:53 am

Ok, let me start this again. I posted this link elsewhere but would be better suited here.

If they were making a movie about Styx. Who would play each of the guys?

I nominate Jon Heder as Tommy Shaw. Look at this clip. I think Jon looks a lot like Tommy Shaw of the 80's. Jon would probably be about the right age too.

Nick Nolte (DWI arrest photo) = Tommy Shaw
Joan Rivers on stilts = James JY Young
The first drummer on The Partridge Family = Todd
The Lead singer of The Way Outs ( Flintstones) = Lawerence
Tommy Shaw could play Ricky

Guys, the 'classic' lineup would make more sense. Seriously no one would care to see a movie about the current lineup. Ricky for example has been in the band one year?

So I say Jon Heder as Tommy.

Watch that clip. Doesn't it remind of Tommy from the 80's?

In Classic Rock Mag Feb ed. Styx interviewer(Malcolm Dome) asked:
Any chance of STYX:The musical??
JY: It's amazing to be asked that right now, because someone has just sent me the script for exactly that.
Unsolicited,but we'll read it.

Yikes.
I hope this does not happen

Meatloaf and Jim Steinman are working on getting a Bat out of Hell musical, so a Styx musical may work also. Would it be Paradise Theater,Kilroy or something new?

Thanks

I thought that comment was especially appropriate. Cracked me up. Even the outfit reminded me of the outfits Tommy wore back then. LOL
