Last night Endymion took to the streets of New Orleans. The theme was Endangered and Extinct Species. Judging by the local coverage, I guess Styx resembled that remark. They barely received a comment on some of the live coverage I watched last night. There were some interviews with Schonn and Cain last night. The local Fox affiliate had live coverage up till the good Reverend Al Green took to the stage. For an old guy, this dude was lighting up the crowd (Let's stay together). Neil Schonn told a reporter that Journey was taking the stage around 2:15 A.M. This is the party city folks. I remember seeing Fats Domino hit the stage at 4 A.M. one year at the same event. Well I will keep searching for anything about our fav band locally. I also had some good friends that were at the event, so any personal observations I will report...fair and balanced as always (bwahahahhaha).
I was going to post a video fron NOLA.com which has some great footage of the floats, crowds, a quick shot of Journey throwing beads and of the Grand Marshall Tyler (yep that is the way they spelled it) Hicks. But the Extinct Styx animal, was not to be found.

I did receive a phone call from an old friend who was at the Extravaganza. He said "Styx tore the house down". He did not stay for all of Journey as they did not hit the stage until 2:30 A.M. More to come.

Yeah Endymion is one of those things that you have to know somebody to get a ticket usually. Most of the years I rode, they make the members buy up all the tables prior to announcing who the entertainment is. That always sucked, because the first thing somebody wants to know before the fork over $300 for tickets is (drum roll), who is playing. I know I had a hard time moving tickets when Julio Iglecius (sp? who cares) played.
