Who thought the album would do that well? I was pretty surprised. I guess Amazon is a pretty good reflection of what Billboard will look like?

LOL, exactly . . . in fact this is kinda what I'm trying to do with the Styx book by offering the download of 'Unsung Heroes of Rock Guitar'. I'm trying to drive one-day sales and such. The difference is, I'm offering a book that's of legitimate value in the first place, about a topic in which there is valid built-in interest. Although I'm unknown as an author, Styx is a well-known topic, so there's some built-in acceptance for my book. That's not true if Joe Schmo has just come out with a new book entitled 'My Aunt Sally Can't Find Her Glasses'. I mean, who cares, right? So they have to try and leverage a thing like that to get whatever sales they can. In my case, I'm trying just to get a higher chart position to expose the book to a wider audience, but I'm also in a lucky position that I have 150 opportunities a year - in cities in which Styx and Dennis perform - to create a promotional platform for continuing exposure.

As for 'Influence', I'm glad it's doing well online, but it's a matter of selling a few thousand copies, versus selling tens of thousand or hundreds of thousands of copies to duplicate that feat in Billboard. I hope so, but I doubt it. I do predict that 'Influence' will end up doing better than 'One With Everything', though.

I hope all is well.

That does bring up a question. What is the WORST selling Styx record? Is it One With Everything, or is it Styx Rockers?

I don't count compilation discs like "The complete wooden nickel recordings" or those Target type value discs like "Yesterday and Today."

You gotta figure that everything from Equinox to Cyclorama is safe. Styx II or Big Bang Theory can't be the worst either.

That leaves Styx I, Man of Miracles, Serpent is Rising, Rockers, One With Everything, Arch Allies, Live at the Rivers Edge, 21st Century Live, Styxworld 2001.

Anyone have any hard data?

My guess is Rockers, with One With Everything and 21st Century Live not too far behind (or is that ahead?) :D

Influence #9 on Amazon! Wow! That's awesome since promotion has been a VH1 Classic, word of mouth, internet and a few radio shows! Stern's show helped too. Go get them, Tommy & Jack! :P

I suppose you're right. I thought about that, but rockers wasn't sold as a multidisc greatest hits type of CD. I suppose the live albums are compilation discs too.

BILLBOARD means NOTHING these days. Only 20% of music sales are CDs. Billboard means nothing.

Were Tommy and Jack on the Howard Stearn show?
If so, what did Howard say to them?

You'll find a recap of Tommy & Jack's appearance on Stern's show on this site. There is a shorter recap on Stern's site, but then you have to shift through the smut.
