What song should Tommy and Jack release as the follow up to Your Move?

I just listened to the CD all the way through, and I would vote for Summer Breeze, but I think someone else released a cover of this a year or two ago. My other favorite is California Dreamin'. Not sure if it's single material, tho.

I was very disappointed in the arrangement on Dance With Me.

We have been playing Lucky Man....AWESOME version. I loved the guitars in place of the keyboards at the end.

Always hated the original, but I kinda dug their more wistful, longing take on it.

Grumble...NiG already took the punchline...

I agree, that would be a great choice. I would like them to have gone even further into Foo Fighters-ish territory than they did, but it's still the heftiest version of the song I've heard. It deserves to be a hit...er, again.

On a side note, just how fantastic a lyricist is Paul Simon? I may not always care for the sound of the old S&G records, but...damn.

Well, I'll RESPECTFULLY (and adamantly) DISagree with you on the "sound" aspect, I will say HELL YEAH on his lyrics. One of the best EVER. He can do no wrong in my eyes. :)

I AM A ROCK gets my vote too! (and summer breeze in June or July)

Paul Simon is one of the greatest lyricists ever. my current favorite line:

I'm a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow.... poetic, visual, alliteration..its all there!

and of course Sound Of Silence is one of the most brilliant songs written. ever.

My vote goes for "Summer Breeze" mainly because I have always been a sucker for this song. And T & J do a nice job of it.

stmonkeys - My vote for Best Paul Simon Lyrics Ever "The Dangling Conversation." Amazing piece of songwriting and a beautiful song to boot.

I like Time of the Season. I think it would be a good single.

My choice would be I Am A Rock or Dirty Work, but Summer Breeze and CA Dreamin' are awesome too.

You guys seem quite excited about this one(with the exception of froy).
Is this just the 2 of them with their acoustic guitars, or is there a backup band and everything.
Personally I can't get revved up with a guy and his guitar,or 2 guys and their guitars.
I like a little band action.

April Wine's version of "I Am a Rock" blows Shaw-Blades version away. I love "Time of the Season" though, it rocks

If you heard the first Shaw/Blades album, it sounds like that.

If not, well, hmm, it's 'band' sound...but with a sorta accoustic feel to it. Kinda like listening to one of those MTV Unplugged sessions.

And, I also vote for "I am a Rock".

My vote is for California Dreamin, #2 Sound Of Silence.

This is a very very good CD.
