Just check out the Journey forum right now.
Styx may be dysfunctional, but Journey has 'em beat hands down.
Journey

Journey is Pretty pathetic! Almost as bad as Van Halen!!
Dave is out. Sammy is in. Sammy is out, Dave is in...No, wait, Dave is not back in.
Gary is in! Gary is out, Sammy is back in! Sammy is out, Dave is back in...no, wait, Eddy is in Rehab, Dave is on Hold....And Sammy is touring with Michael Anthony!!
All we've had to deal with is Dennis' alleged illness!!

Well exactly. Puts the whole JY/DDY conflict in perspective, doesn't it? Small peanuts.

I don't really keep up with Journey -- until checking out that thread, all I knew was that Steve Perry hadn't been in the band for a while -- so this was all pretty much news to me.
So...the replacement for Perry was lip-syncing, then they replaced the replacement, and now for some reason they're replacing the guy who replaced the replacement. Right?
Weird.

That's pretty much it stabbim.
I wonder who would win in an ego fight - the members of Journey (past & present - Schon, Cain, Perry) vs. Styx (past & present - JY, TS, and DDY). Dare I say Journey?

I love Journey but i don't follow all the changeups. I didn't know that Steve Perry wasn't in Journey until maybe a year or two ago. Now JSS is gone, he sounded alot like Perry as some described. I want Steve Perry back but he doesn't plan on making a return to Journey or music from what i have read.

And this is also sometimes why I don't get Styx fans who are firmly in one camp or another.
Here you have a band that split. DDY still is out there and singing - and in the original keys, mind you. Sure, it's not with Styx. Between Styx and DDY you get all the songs. Just not in one place.
Look at Journey - revolving door of singers over their history, and Perry, despite leaving after 1996, refuses to/can't sing anymore.
Be thankful for what you have. At least you have the ability to see DDY *or* Styx.

Yes, thankfully there is a chance to see them both on a regular basis. Even Glen is making more appearances.
Being a Jrny fan is constant drama.

What the HELL? *I* post here too! It was just as much a dig at myself as it was anyone who posts here. You have to admit, you need to have SOME type of masochistic desires to even bother reading these boards much of the time. And it is isn't exactly intellectually stimulating! Lighten the hell up, SISTER.
And it's "you're."

Zan.......you took a crack at me that sure didn't read like a joke.
Maybe if you made it clear that you were only funnin I wouldn't have
gotten so hostile.
I have never had a problem with you and I'm not looking to have any in the future.
If I misunderstood your humor I am sorry but I will respond when I feel I'm being insulted.

I agree with Allan. At least we have the option of seeing Dennis in concert, and then JY/Tommy/Chuck in another concert. So we get the whole band (Johnny in spirit).
1996 and 1997 spoiled us, seeing them all together, but It could be worse. Tommy could be in DY, JY could be in the JY group, and Dennis could be doing Broadway. I will take what we have now over THAT scenero any day!

What about it read as a crack at you? It had nothing to DO with you whatsoever. The guy asked what was with the frying pan. To me, it reminded me of those old commercials with the fried egg, and this board does have a way of turning our brains to mush in the same way. Would you disagree?
Perhaps instead of knee-jerking, you could have...I dunno...asked what I meant. Just a thought. Although, I still wonder how you knew I was naked.
Nevertheless, I accept your apology.
It's all good.

A kind enough forum member came and explained what they saw your humor to be
in that post.
Maybe the heat round here or the humidity in my home-space got to me and
I flew off the fry-panhandle a bit to quickly, though I consider myself to be friendly
and humorous I am still human and make bad calls on occasion.
Glad neither of us lost an eye over my misunderstanding.

I was sincere in my post if you had no interest why didn't you
just post something that was on your mind about either of the Artist's you named?
Gotta make a point of saying you could care less?
