As allways, thanx for great reports Jimmy.
I am glad to hear they were great compared to when they put out their first album.
I saw them on that tour and it was total cheese.
Carl and Geoff wearing tiny gino shorts .After Carl's solo he was jumping up and down pummeling his chest like Tarzan fishing for adoration.
They are coming to Toronto and I am debating. There is no way it could possibly be worse.
'Fanfare for the common man' may be my draw.Ofcourse there has been a few Asia albums after I saw them the first time.
When I saw Carl with two young lads in concert as CP Band, last winter it was brilliant.

I got free tix for Carl's show last year and it was excellent. You're right GR8.
I saw Asia on the debut tour too back in 1982. It was a good show and I enjoyed it...but, you're right, something was missing. This one had much more INTENSITY. And it was better this time that they had more than one album of material to choose from.....

Seen them 3 times last week.......
Steve Howe ...... Maestro
Geoff Downes .... Keyboard whizz
John Wetton ... Bass player extravagance and what a voice
Carl Palmer .... Quite simply the best drummer to ever pick up a stick ..( think Neil Peart with power)
AWESOME SHOWS .......
Yes ... Roundabout
King Crimson ... In The Court Of The Crimson King
ELP ... Fanfare For The Common Man
Buggles ... Video Killed The Radio Star
All brilliant but the highlights for me were all the songs from the first album and Ride Easy.
Met the guys at a fans greet after the Orlando show ..... met my idol Wetton ( were not worthy, were not worthy)
YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS SHOW..... MISSING IT IS A HIGH CRIME AND A MISDEMEANOUR

"one of these things is not like the others
one of these things just doesn't belong...
can you tell me which thing is not like the others
by the time I finish this song...."
sorry- couldn't resist

I'll be at this show tonight, and can not wait. I'll post a review tomorrow. I already know it is going to rock. This is my first time seeing Asia.

AWESOME!! The Asia show last night was great. These guys sound great and were on top of their game. The stand out of the night was Carl Palmer on the drums, i had no idea how great this guy still is. He was tearing it up on the skins last night. They played selections from Asia and Alpha albums, they opened with Sole Survivor. They also played "Fanfare for the Common Man" from ELP, "The Court of the Crimson King" , Roundabout, and Video Killed the Radio Star. Steve Howe was awesome as expected, and John Wetton can still sing. Catch this show if they come to your area, worth every penny and minute.

You were in Orlando and you didn't come and say hi. I'm hurt (I work at the large park behind the Hard Rock....)
Glad you liked the show.
