The Only Way I Would Want Dennis Back In Styx....

Only way is if:

1. The all have equal power.

2. Before touring, they all are locked away for 3 months to record a new CD at a studio that is not DDY's or TS's house. Record as a band, no one else (wives) present, record like it was done in 1975.... as a BAND. Sorry Dennis, but your wife would have to stay out of the way, no contact for 3 months. Same with you Tommy and JY although I think those two could handle it better.

3. They tour more often than once every 5-7 years.

The result would be either:

1. Something wonderful
2. They would never finish a complete record
3. They would kill each other

But less often than a continuous 8 year tour

I don't want Dennis back in Styx anymore. This album proves he can make great music without them. Not that he had to prove that to begin with.

I would be disappointed if DDY ended up back with Styx.

Who knows what Dennis wants to do next. I do imagine he really wants one more run with Styx before time passes on too much longer and I think his last record here is an olive branch to say, see I can still write some tunes you might be interested in. Time is running out as they are all getting up in age...not too many options left. I do predict one more Original Styx run..maybe not for another 2-3 years but it is somewhere out there. I can see it being something along the lines of a contract with TS and JY to do one last record and major tour to put a final stamp on the Original Styx. Dennis will have an idea for a record/tour (writing material in the Suite Madame Blue vein) that will be brought to TS who in turn will bring this to JY. JY will cave after given word this is a one off. Glen Burtnik will be part of this contract and play bass. After a fairly successful tour and record (successful meaning selling more than 100-200k records) , the Original Styx can ride off into the sunset on a good note.....the name/band Styx will continue on in some form but not with those 3 together.

Is if they open up their concert with Born for Adventure and JY and Dennis duel with real swords for three minutes.

Lawerence will be backstage waiting for the call if JY wins, and Rosanne Barr will be backstage waiting for the call if Dennis wins.

If its a draw, Suzanne has to shave her head & Tommys wife will be forced to get her GED.

Dennis is appoaching 61.

Chuck said something similar to this in an interview about getting the band together one last time before anyone else leaves this world.

So Chuck's a credible source now? I keep losing track around here. ;-)

There was a time I wanted Dennis back in Styx. Then there was a time I didn't want Dennis back in Styx. Now, I just plain don't give a shit. If it happens, it happens. But regardless of what happens, you can bet that the arguing & conspiracy theories will continue.

Just poking a little fun for my own amusement. And it was certainly not aimed at you.

Here we go again with who knows who..anyway, hell no.
Glen is going to keep doing things with Dennis, Tommy will make an appearance, and it will turn into more and more.
Before it's too late and they are too old-Dennis, Glen, and Tommy will doing something together.
Dennis won't do anything with JY, MAYBE Chuck, but most likely not.
Dennis and Tommy, doing that Borders together-not that was classic.
Tommy will continue to do stuff like that with Jack. Jack and Tommy will always do something together.

Give that girl a prize! :) Couldn't have said it better myself.

The sad reality is that even if a reunion happens, no one will give much of a shit. Styx toured too much in the past 8 years and the entire fanbase due to the split had been eroded to the point I think even combined they may play slightly larger venues than either camp is now, but not much larger. If DDY comes back it's not like Styx will go from 2,000 to 10,000 seat arenas on their own. People who think so are just delusional.

You'd be surprised how advertising "reunited for the first time in 10 years" will cause a spike in attendance.

I refuse to see this line-up.... I know there are many more like me.

I've been emailing with Tim Orchard... Dennis Manager about the new album.. and every time I talk to him I remind him how much better Dennis is without Styx. Those guys (and many of their fans) wanted him to be something he's not. He can be who he wants to be and do what he wants to do and demonstrates that better off. I know many fans of DFB feel the same way - so why rock the boat.

Dennis, Tommy and Glen would make the nucleus of one FUCK of a rock band. I'm sorry. But that would be a very cool thing to behold.

Just don't call it Styx... and don't involve JY. That is all I ask.

The only way I would want Dennis back with Styx was if it would be the last tour for the band and they would retire from turing under the Styx name when the tour was finished. I'd also like to see them bring all surviving members of all incarnations of the and along for an extended show. I don't really care what size venues they play.
