IS Dennis insightful to the way the music industry works or what. He is always dead on.

I didn't know it was a "Lost Treasures" show. When was that added?

When I saw him perform in Lisle a few weeks back he sounded better than ever, but what I noticed most of all was his band is kicking some serious ass now.

If I'm not mistaken, if Glen's not at the shows, then Jimmy will be playing guitar or someone else. I'm pretty sure that there will be 2 guitarists at every Dennis show now. He does listen by the way - LOL

"Save Me" was fricken great!! "100 Years" was GREAT too. Everyone and I mean everyone in my area said that "Save Me" is a total radio friendly song.

They're learning "Rain" and "Rubicon" right now. For Rubicon they need someone to be at the show, I forgot which guitarist to be played great. And for CNN, Dennis really likes that song - LOL

Ya know... when I think of RUSH... I don't think of "OMFG ROCK". I mean they have a few really good rock songs, but they are art rock to the core. There's nothing really flashy about anything they do save for their drummer. They have good instrumentation and a decent singer (I'm sorry, but Geddy Lee is just not the end all of vocalists IMO). What they do have tho is MASTER songwriting tho. I always thought of Rush as one of those mid-tempo rock bands like Yes that has good instrumentation and killer songwriting. I wouldn't classify them as ROCK in the way that, say, JY would want to.

And..they put on an AWESOME show. 3+ hours of lights, lasers, fire, great videos and awesome musicianship. A DDY show is good but not even close to a Rush show in my opinion. Same goes for Styx. I like a Styx show better than a Dennis show but it's still not a SHOW like Rush puts on. I expect to be entertained and for the money, a Rush show beats both of them. It doesn't mean I like their music any better just the overall show.

For the money I hope you are right, i paid $90 for my tickets when Rush comes here to Chicago, this will be my first time seeing them live, but I thought the tickets were a bit steep. I saw Dennis for free this summer, for the money i would say that is the greatest bargin I have ever come across.

I hope you have a GREAT time seeing Rush!! I'll be at the Milwaukee show in September. I have an extra ticket if anyone needs one :)

I've been seeing Rush live since the mid-1980's. One of my favorite bands!! Every Rush concert has been GREAT and special!!

I wish I could've gone back in 1976 when Styx opened up for them!! Only to go back in time........... And I also wished that Tommy would've opened for Rush in Milwaukee - UGH in 1988!!!

Well, I saw Rush with Tommy, Suite. So nyah, nyah :) Great double bill, although Wix (the keyboard player) was not very good at doing the DDY solos. He upgraded to playing with Macca a few years later and fit right in. Go figure.

As for Rush, I've seen every tour from HYF on (the tour where TS opened). Great, great show. Having been in a Rush tribute band until recently, it's hard stuff to pull off well. And yes, we did have a female singer to nail the vocals. Rush is still one of the best live acts out there. So far this summer I've seen Genesis in the UK, Rush, the Police, Dennis, and I'm seeing Squeeze in a few weeks. All were good shows. Rush and Genesis were the best visually. The Police were tight, and other than two songs in the set ("Don't Stand So Close to Me" and "Walking in Your Footsteps"), it was one of the better shows I've seen in recent memory. DDY's light show is better than the STyx one is these days (last I saw anywhere), but nowhere in the league of any of the other shows I have seen recently.

I'm seeing Genesis again in September here in the USA and it will be interesting to see how much of that outdoor setup makes it to the indoor venues.
