Did ya really think I was serious about the Styx reunion?

More Speculation on Froy's part..

But I can tell you nobody outside of Quebec knows who this Eric Lapointe is, so there really isn't any reason to have him as Dennis's special guest in places like Calgary, Kitchener, Brampton, etc.

But Dennis does have a special guest with him on most gigs.. His name is Glen Burtnik!!

OMG, I loved, just totally loved the extra guitars. Oh, I forgot, Dennis can't rock - LOL Way too funny!!!

Tommy, Hank, Kyle, John, Glen, Jimmy

and........................ will that will probably change from show to show depending on the location.

I wouldn't doubt there will be a few surprises here and there. Just looking who was on his current cd it wouldn't be too hard to figure out a couple right there at a few different shows.

Also I'm sure there were a few musicians that would love to be special guests on a few of the "old" Styx songs. It all depends on the location and what type of concert, that's just my opinion.

Lucky you. As per another thread, my wife does not want to go to the Brampton one so I have given up on the concert.

Froy.. honestly, did you know who he was BEFORE He did the Duet with Deyoung?

Unless you are a closet Francophone, I think the answer is NO..

Arguments for the sake of arguing on this board? :D

Eric is not well known outside of Quebec (maybe the French parts of New Brunswick) because the rest of Canada does not listen to French music. But, Quebec is a legitimate market within Canada and Dennis' popularity in the country should not be discounted simply because 75% of it is concentrated in the Quebec. Quebec has its own music, film and book market that thrives and does skew the national numbers, but who cares.

Go alone. That's what I did at first. Then I started to meet people. No more going alone!

Jodes, do you know if Dennis had a 2nd guitarist with him when he played Calgary earlier this year? Was it Glen, Stephane, the new guy, or no one?

French parts of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia (where I originally come from) and there's a small french contingent in Manitoba. I knew who Eric was before I moved to Quebec.

That being said, I agree with your post, Jodes.

Blt.. as for the Calgary show, Glen told me he was not going to be there on July 14th. I was not at the Calgary show and I don't know anyone that was (tickets were over $100 dollars). So I don't know if he had a 2nd guitarist. Sorry

Denny could add 30 musicians onstage and it wouldn't sound as good as what the current STYX is putting out with 5.

Dennis DeYoung, BY HIMSELF, with NO MUSICIANS, sounds better than what current styx is putting out with 5. 8)
