Personally, I like Lady so much more than Babe. Lady.. musically there is so much more depth to it than Babe. Great song. What redeeming value does Babe have? It would not bother me one bit if I never heard this song again as long as I lived.

There are a lot of people who used this song at their wedding that would disagree with you.
BlackWall wrote:Well, lyrically speaking, "Lady" doesn't run any deeper than "Babe", in fact, I'd be tempted to say that "Babe" is a little stronger, but "Lady" has more of an upbeat, catchy, not to mention, "classic" sounding melody.. I think it just depends on what you're in the mood for. "Lady" is a little more carefree; where "Babe" is a bit more sentimental. These days, I'd personally take "Lady", but I'm not going to say that it is or isn't a better song

Always get a kick out of this. When the song starts ...."Babe, I'm leaving, I must be on my way" Such a romantic way to start a song. A song about being apart. Certainly a song for a longer relationship, but hardly one for a couple just starting out.

It's the folks who choose "Every Breath You Take" for their wedding song that worry me the most....

or... REM's "the one i love"
or.... presidents who use "born in the usa"

I don't think Dennis is that vague. His lyrics tend to be pretty to the point. .
