Sorry if this has been mentioned before.

Spotted a book yesterday called CTR,by Michael C. Ruppert.
Political science/history section.
CTR signifies a point of no return.Peak oil and 9/11 are 2 such points that signals profound change in the course of world events that no one will remain unaffected.

Have not listened to 100 years in a while so not sure if the lyrics somewhat matches this.

I agree that they are personal. I think its about Dennis himself crossing the rubicon (i.e. can't go back, point of no return, etc.) all in relation to his age, career and Styx.
