But what if Dennis' autograph had been on there as well?

To each is own. I see nothing wrong with it. The person who owns it, do they have a problem with it? If not then there is not a problem. I have a Styx poster that Chuck signed, even though he isn't on the poster. I see nothing wrong with that. So it would be up to who owns it-ERIC

Kind of like Salieri signing the Requiem.

Sort of like handing Dennis the carrot cover to sign.

This is a nice poster. I might pay a penny for it and cut the bottom part with all the signatures on it off and throw those away.

How many times does Dennis have to tell you this.....

When people tell me by and large shitty things about the other guys, it doesn't really make me happy. Because I believe that any insult to any of us is an insult to Styx.

What's funny is that Gowan was probably still wearing a kilt and tossing telephone poles in Scotland when Grand Illusion came out in the first place.

Or Tommy signing "Edge Of The Century"?

I can hardly read the autographs! Does one of them say Glen Burtnik?
Guess that makes him class-less as well. And what of Todd? :?

I would bet Dennis has nothing against Gowan whatsover. He did not seek to join Styx, he was asked. Would you have had a problem if Glen would have signed a similar thing in 1991? Doubt it.

New to the board. Hey all. Styx fan since 1977 here. No bones to pick with either sides of the ongoing rift. Seen Styx many times, both with DDY and Gowan. Saw DDY a couple of years ago. I enjoyed all the shows.

Sorry, digressed. I guess it depends if it was a memorabelia trader or a fan that got the autograph. If it was a fan, how could Gowen not sign it. If not, I tend to agree.

Froy would have felt the same way in 1991 had Glen signed it.

You know something, the more and more I read from you guys, all I can say is this....

"No Band is an Island".

Remember the quote? Dennis DeYoung, liner notes of Crystal Ball. They have gone their seperate ways, the music is still being played and we the fans are lucky enough to have the both sides playing the music.

Can everyone just grow up a little bit here and realize that we could be fans of groups that are no longer able to play together? We're the lucky ones.

And before the comments come up, You're entitled. But you don't need to beat Mr. Ed. He's already dead.

Nah, Gowan's too skinny to be taking part in a caber toss.

Gowan the pole-tosser signing The Grand Illusion is like Linda McCartney of Wings signing a copy of Abbey Road.

I don't see the big deal. Personally, I have never had any CD singed by anyone who was not in the band at the time it was recorded. I think it's...stupid. But a picture? Who cares.

Well its being auctioned so someone thinks it is worth something. It only matters if the person buying it thinks it is something that it is not (i.e. that the signatures are from those who originally played on the album).

Last night I had a dream, from which I woke up in cold sweat.
In this drem I met Robert Plant and Jimmy Page.
I had along with me one of Plant's solo albums and asked him to sign it.
Jimmy offered to sign also, but I had to turn him down, since he did not play on the album.

So, you went to a Plant/Page show with a plant solo album only (because, let's face it, who wouldn't do the same?), or you just happened to be walking around with a Plant solo album and bumped into the two of them? ;-)

Well Zan.Thank you for asking.
It was a Plant show and Pagey made a surprise guest appearance.
I got the autograps in the all you can eat buffet, where indeed I did bump into them.
I all of a sudden remember some more of my dream.Stmonkeys were there and had just polished of a tray of pickled eggs and downed 6 pint of Guinness.
