Shaw Blades Tour!

Postby kittstyx28 » Sun Nov 11, 2007 2:16 pm

Hello everyone! I have been reading the Melodic Rock boards for a while and decided to join. But lets get to the topic.
I went and saw Shaw Blades on thurs and friday in San Juan Capistrano. They were both great shows! Friday was a sell out show. I would say that over half the crowd saw them both days like I did. They asked the crowd about how many people would be coming back the next night and over half the crowd responded. So they chanded the set up on friday. On friday they played Dont tell my you love me, and that super funny song that they performed on howard stern about Beth. Also, instead of Down That Highway, they played The Night Goes On. I could not give a set listing but they played similar sets from last April. Shaw and Blades also played Dirty Work. They said it was the first time that they had played that live. Fun stuff.

Someone in the crowd screamed Love In The Midnight and Tommy sang a little bit and asked the crowd ( like six people, including myself) sing a long because he could not remember the words that well. Still did a great job. It was so much fun, I hope they keep touring together in between Styx/night ranger breaks. Do you think they will?
Just thought I would post this because no one else had mention the Shaw Blades tour yet. Everyone needs to see Shaw Blades more than once, ya know. Because it is a different experience every time.

Now, that's one song I would love to hear live!! Always loved it. I will see them in Pittsburgh shortly and am GREATLY looking forward to it. (Missed them last time as it sold out. This time I got the tickets back in August!!) I'm happy to hear good reports about the show, although I also hear that the crowd can/will play a part... do I remember someone saying that the crowd somewhere was rude and kind of took away from the show??

Count me in as one who's looking forward to the show as well! They're FINALLY coming to Ft. Lauderdale (not just Florida, but FT. LAUDERDALE - practically my backyard). And "Love in the Midnight" gets my vote! That's one of my absolute favorite Styx songs ever.

I think the guy people mentioned was a drunk guy who liked to yell out songs all night, am I wrong? I think I've seen that guy at other shows too. ;-)
-Zan :)

believe me, i know my Styx

That does tend to be the one done side to the shows. The DRUNK people. They can take away from the show but the coach house employees were quick to tell people to sit done and shut up.
I really liked how the show was different on both nights. They played all the same Influence songs but that is to promote the album, so its okay.
Shaw and Blades also mentioned that appearing on Howard Stern actually got Hallucination sales to jump. It was a great time to reissue it.

Those were great shows, eh? BTW, the "someone" in the crowd yelling for LITM was Tani, me, Nanci, Dayle & Ken. After the 3rd or 4th time we yelled it, he finally heard us. You're welcome! LOL!

Styx (Tommy) actually did an accoustic version of LITM as an intro into Crystal Ball one of the nights at Rama back in May. Needless to say, there was a puddle where I was standing. And, Zan, I agree with you - it's one of my favorites as well.
:-)

I love how Tommy and Jack harmonize, probably my faves! I'd love to catch a show sometime! I'm envious of those that have!

Well, I'll be at Chicago but unfortunately it won't be (ahem) recorded for posterity. Hopefully someone else is getting it.
