That includes me, Froy, Bugsy, Blue Falcon, Darwin, Peicesof8. Lets see, who am I forgetting, oh Rajah. Who else?

Yes, Dennis has exactly ONE fan - some delusional muslim guy.

Not exactly what was said their Higgy. But you can read into it what you want. Just for some, the band was more than Dennis' songs, for others not. It is possible to enjoy the contributions of all members. Some choose to beleive you have to pick sides. Life's to short, listen to what you like.

Me, I'm a Big Styx fan as much as I'm a Big DDY fan. Both have their good points and their bad.
Although didn't find much bad listening to the new Dennis cd on my drive down to Dallas yesterday. Brought me several cds, but keep the DDY cd in for about 3 to 4 hours. Probably will listen more this week I'm down here.-ERIC

I consider myself a fan of classic STYX, as opposed to what is currently tooling around the continent which I refer to as STYNX. Long ago I believed DDY to be the main reason this band derailed back in the 80s, and to an extent that is true. Certainly his domineering nature mis-lead them into making Kilroy Was Here, but that was just the final nail in a coffin that was already being lowered into the ground.

But no one forced the other guys to stay in the band during that time, and I find it highly unprofessional for guys like JY and Chuck to STILL be bad-mouthing DDY in 2007, while DDY long ago dropped any negative comments about the other guys. (And I'm tired of people saying Chuck cannot be criticized because of his health, but he did refer to DDY as a tyrant just this year. Perhaps Chuck should meet a real tyrant like Saddam Hussein or Hugo Chavez before saying nonsense like this. He could have left and formed the Chuck Panozzo Project.)

JY is ruining Styx's image with the constant touring, eroding their name value with every sparsely-attended opening set. We have JY to thank for Styx being reduced to performing a 35-minute set of hits (mostly written by their "former keyboardist" in the first place) for a tired 80s hair band like Def Leppard.

So no, I'm not a DDY fan...I find his ballads annoying anyway, but sometimes bands are made better by tension within the ranks and different approaches to making music. That's why I liked classic STYX so much: DDY's ballads mixed well with JY's rockers and Tommy's wider musical sense. We don't have that any more, but JY could at least leave the past alone and stop pi$$ing on it every chance he gets.

Yeah, cause I'm sure that by using the word "tyrant," he was making a literal comparison. No sense of context, that CP. What a Maroon.

Exactly. They are not playing the DDY-penned/sung songs much. Thankfully, in my view. :P (Although they have slipped "Suite Madame Blue" back into some sets, unfortunately. But I have made my view on that known elsewhere on this board.)

This year I've spent probably 2 - 3 months down here off and on. I'm back the week of 12/10 and then not sure when I'll be back but I'll let you know. It's all how the work schedule and client list plays itself out :)

Without looking up itineraries and comparing set lists, I think you would find that Suite Madame Blue drops back into the set list just before they venture back into Canada.
