I was always a fan. I am truly saddened by this news.
I will say that his recent music was provided to me by someone that touched me deeply. Mr. Fogelberg was such a talented man. I'm grateful for the music he gave us. And grateful that I had the chance to discover that later work. What a wonderful gift.
Rest in peace.

Oh so sad!!

He made beautiful music, with his voice, his lyrics and with his arrangements. One of my favorites for sure.

I am saddened to hear this, but suspected it was inevitable, due to the lack of any updates on his health these past few years. DF, along with The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Styx have provided the music I love most. I was hoping one day we would hear of improvement, and perhaps I would have one more chance to see him live.
I hope right now he is jamming in heaven with John Lennon and George Harrison, the Beatles were a big influence on his music.
Rest in Peace Dan, and my condolences to his widow Jean, and all who were close to you.

Damn that sucks.
I liked the shit out of his music.
He truly seemed like one of the good guys.
Rest in peace Dan!

A great singer/songwriter acousticy type that could still rock out. Truly tragic and way too young... 56

Just last week, I was again wondering how his progress was. After they announced years ago that he had cancer, you never heard anymore about him. The news made me very sad. I may never make it to the alter, but the song on the top of my list to be played at my wedding has always been Longer.
RIP Dan, your voice will be missed.

I saw him in concert years ago in Baton Rouge, solo show, just him a guitar and piano. Wonderful show. This time of the year, I always hear Same Old Lang Syne on the raido. The Innocent Age is a masterpiece. RIP Dan.

I echo your sentiments. We used his song "Since You Asked" from his "Twin Sons of Different Mothers" (with Tim Weisberg) at our wedding. Great music--he will be missed.
