Loverboy's new CD Just Getting Started is AWESOME!!!!!
The first three songs, Just Getting Started, Fade to Black & Just Aint One Of Thoses Days are as good or better than anything Mike Reno and the band has ever done.
I kid you NOT this is a GREAT CD!!!
The Cowboys will rest T.O. this week vs Washington. Bad news for my Vikings!

Thanks for the Tip! I just picked it up on iTunes. Sounds a little like Herem Scarem and Loverboy mixed. I like it.

It's an AWESOME CD!!
My only complaint is that there are only 10 songs and the entire CD comes in at under 39 minutes.
The longest song is like 3:50. Still, the hooks and the lyrics are all there. Mike Reno NEVER sounded better.
As I stated earlier the first three songs on this CD are as good if not BETTER than ANYTHING Loverboy has EVER done.
It's a GREAT CD!!

Yep! Definately sounds like it's a Harem Scarem CD! lol

I didn't mean to say it sounded like Harem Scarem, but more of a cross between the two. Some of the songs sound like they could have been written and or produced by Hess/Lesperance.

You didn't get my joke..
10 songs, 39 minutes, none of them longer the 3 minutes and 50 seconds.
Harem has been notorious for releasing albums the last 10 or so years that are under the 40 minute mark..

It is great. It's kind of refreshing to have a CD with NO filler on it though. Every song is excellent. "As Good As It Gets" is my favorite at the moment.

Highly recommend this one to all.

I should’ve caught that. I have most of their albums.

You are correct Froy, but back then an album only could be so long.
Isnt that why they had to cut about 40 seconds off of Man In the Wilderness??
CD's can hold up to 80 minutes.
This new Loverboy CD is TRULY GREAT.
It's just a FANTASTIC CD.
If this would have followed Get Luckey, it could have sold 5 million copies.
I just wished that it was a little longer.

Maybe he's Mike Reno????
Mike sure looked like Elvis when I last saw him in 1998.
But damn he's still got the pipes.
He's also got the material on this CD.
AWESOME CD from the new Elvis!!!

OK, Yogs. On your recommendation, I bought this CD. I have not had a chance to listen to the entire thing, but the bits I have heard sound pretty good.
Back in the 80's, I used to think Mike Reno was the hottest thing in leather pants and a headband. And his fantastic voice just added to that rather appealing mix.
Time has been a little rough on the looks, but I am glad to see the voice is in good shape!

Back in the 80's, I used to think Mike Reno was the "gay-est" looking thing in his headband and leather pants (on par with George Michael in the "Wake Me Up" video), and I loathed Loverboy's music, so it exacerbated the headband/leather fiasco all that much more .
Time has been a little rough on the looks, but I am glad to see the voice is in good shape!
Then...one day back in 2002, Loverboy opened for Styx, so I went to see them play.
And I have to say, hands down, that he had the BEST rock voice I had EVER heard. I was BLOWN A W A Y. It's funny this topic's been brought up because I have been trying to unlock the mystery that is Mike Reno ever since. He looks like gobshite. He's outta shape, his teeth are bad, his hair is thinning - but good Lord, can the man sing. Absolutely freakin' amazing.
Don't get me wrong - I'm almost *happy* he's gained so much weight because there's NO WAY he can wear those cheesy leather pants again.
I might have to look into this CD as well, Yogi. You have good taste in music, and your feelings about Mike Reno confirm it. LOL

Reno was hilarious talking about those leather pants on VH1's Greatest Songs of the 80's.

Oh yikes!

I don't THINK so!!!

If you dont mind slumming, head over to the Journey Fourm.
At the Journey Fourm there is a Loverboy T O' Assembly Line.
The Assembly Line is titled Loverboy etc. Niagra Falls New Years. There is a UTube video of one of their new songs. The song is the title track of their new CD 'Just Getting Started'. This was actually recorded at the concert that Dennis was headlining.
That is not Meatloaf singing. It is Mike Reno and Loverboy.
I PROMISE you their new CD is AWESOME!!

I do like this CD a LOT. Back in the day, it would have been a huge hit. Lots of radio-friendly songs on it.

Zan,
I could have done that but I decided not to. I am sick and tired of you and people like you, who live in a sheltered, safe, better than art thou neighborhood.
It was long past due that you ventured across the tracks and see for yourself how the other half lives!!
It's NOT pretty is it???????
Just living here save in Styxworld wont cut it anymore!!!!!!!!!
