"The second Gowan took the over vocal reigns and started singing DeYoung’s “Grand Illusion,” any misconceived notions about this man’s importance to this band vanished. If you closed your eyes, you would think DeYoung was back on stage."
This is from a reviewer that thinks Black Sabbath had a song called "War Pipes".

I have never seen Styx without Dennis DeYoung, but I am about to later this month. I can't see anyone but Dennis singing Dennis DeYoung songs and doing them justice.
Still, since I am from Canada I know how good Gowan is. I procured one of Styx's live CD's where Gowan sings Dennis's songs and he does a pretty good job with them.
Gowan's solo work which includes Strange Animal, Lost Brotherhood, and Great Dirty World are all fantastic albums.
While his vocals compared to DeYoungs are different, the similiarities between the two are great.
Having seen Dennis three times in the past year, I now can't wait to go on holiday to see Styx.
The Super Bowl tomorrow, then eight more days to my holiday.
I am looking forward to the shows and maybe meeting up with some of you or some other ravenous Styx fans.
Cheers.

He forgot to mention he was stoned out of his mind .
Its obvious that Styx management pays these guys off
Don't have to close my eyes to see that,

Froy,
Thank you for the link. I have never heard Gowan singing Lady. It sounds great. He is still quite the showman. He fits in real well with Tommy and the Styx legacy.
I am more excited now than ever.
No one will ever be able to sing Dennis DeYoung's songs as good as Dennis, but it must even make Dennis feel good to have his songs being handled by such a fine singer.
That video is great. Styx sounds real good, and I cant wait to see them on holiday.
I must add my little nephew just heard and saw the video and he shouted 'that songs from Underdog. I like that song'.
