First one for me is "Come Sail Away". The opening for this song just helps me reflect back on life & everything I've been through. The ending represents what I still don't know is out there waiting to happen. This is the last song I want to hear as I'm movin' on to the next world.....

Next is Grand Illusion - who cares about the life the guy next to you has?. Make the best of yours, enjoy it, and don't bitch about it. This song has helped my kids to see that they don't have to be like anyone else - they don't have to have all the latest gadgets, cars, etc. As long as they have what they need to live confortably from day to day, then life is good. No matter how much money we have, in the end, we're all going to die & go on to whatever else is waiting for us.

Half Penny, Two Penny - "Justice for money what can you say, we all know it's the American way" - that says it all. As screwed up as our country/government is, it's still the best in the world & I'll stay in the military as long as I can to keep supporting this country (18 years active duty, going for 30). To me this song says, "Life won't ever be fair, get used to it" & I believe that is an important message.

Babe/Lady - these 2 quintessential tunes are great - Whenever I deploy, I listen to "Babe" as the bus is driving away for the airport to take us to the next hellhole we're fighting in. Lady helps me realize how valuable my wife is in my life (17 years, still hangin' on) & that she is an irreplaceable part of the foundation of our family.

That's about it. Sorry if I got too sentimental, but that's why Styx is at the top of the list to me - I can relate to so many songs & get a lot of peace of mind as I'm listening to them - I almost feel like many of them were made for my life & I'm sure some other fans do too.

I like the message of I'm OK, being comfortable with your own skin and who you are and all that.
