Any of you guys,heard any of these guys?
Posted: Mon Mar 17, 2008 3:18 amI was going through my book 'The progressive rock files' by Jerry Lucky,and came across these 2 bands.
Zazu-Zazu on Wooden Nickle 1975.
One shot band who released a prog-rock gem,to general indifference.Their singer sounds like DDY,
though their music sounds nothing like Styx.Heavy prog guitar riffs,wild keyboard antics and complex arrangements.
Standout trac is the incredible 'Ittsnottasonata,But it's close'.
If you like your prog with a heavy edge this is a must.
Or
Stormkro-Some odd years.1997.
Vocal oriented material that is reminiscent of Styx circa 'Man of mairacles' and 'Serpent'.
Good songwriting and solid musicianship combined with an even stronger progressive rock emphasis to deliver the goods.
Bloody H,,,,I love the sound of Stormkro.
Serp and Man are in my top 5 Styx.
