I love the driving beat of Love is the Ritual. I have only heard Kiss Your Ass a couple of times and felt it was a Green Day wannabe song. LITR is strong and original sounding.

Have to agree with Zan here. Studio-wise, the solo version of KYAG is better than the Styx version, but live I loved the version of LITR Styx (post-1999) did.

Right, Allan! OK, I'll break it down by song in order of most favorite downward:
Love is the Ritual:
Styxworld version 2000
1990 studio Styx version
solo from Retrospectacle
KYAG:
solo from WTH
Styx studio version 2002
live
Now, putting them head-to-head for comparison, I'd do this:
Styxworld's LITR vs. solo KYAG = SW's Ritual (by a hair, and probably only because of the memories, but it does kick tremendous ass)
Styx studio KYAG vs. Ritual = uhhh....KYAG (maybe)
Live KYAG vs. solo Ritual = Ritual
