Gas is already coming down. Supply and Demand.

China is no longer buying oil at the rate they were the past year. They have stockpiled enough oil (gas and diesel) to run the olympics even if their was no supply available.

Simple economics...

Yeah, well they said the same thing a few years ago then a thing called Hurricaine Katrina hit and gas prices went up.. It took months for gas prices to drop.

Don't worry, I'm sure the Oil companies will blame "violence in Africa" or "tension in the middle east" to keep prices high.

I didn't say they were blowing up levees, but all we heard in the news up here was "gas to sore to a 1.25 a liter" because all the oil refineries and off shore platforms off the gulf coast could be damaged or destroyed by Hurricaine Katrina..

Remember, we have a different perspective of the US then you guys do. You primarily get your info from CNN, ABC, NBC, etc.

We get all of that, but we also have the CBC and CTV up here, and the BBC as well.

It makes it much so much more interesting watching the same story from three different points of view.

I actually watch the BBC news every night. It's real news, hard news, like we had in America twenty years ago. The "news" here now is just pop culture wrapup. Our journalists have more or less completely abdicated any real oversight of the governmental process. The difference between the lazy infotainment we get and the real news of the BBC is amazing.

The biggest factor in the lowering of gas prices is the bursting of the oil speculation bubble. Period.

Much as completely I abhor the man, I'm the first to admit that not EVERYTHING is W's fault. Though he has presided over perhaps the most spectacular failure of an administration in the history of this country (which even most of his own party recognizes at this point), we can't forget Congress' complete abdication of its traditional role in oversight of the Executive branch, nor the failure of the Judicial branch to provide the proper checks and balances. We have a government that isn't working properly in ANY of the important ways right now.
