We are getting soaked here today
Every street is flooded
I have never seen anything like this
3 inches of rain and more coming.

It's all over the front page of the Tribune website. Remnants of Hurricane Ike. Hope everyone's okay. Hang in there guys and batten down the hatches!

Yep, we're not supposed get the remnants until sometime tomorrow. The good news is though is that it'll be a little south of us moving to the east, the bad news is that Indiana and the northeast will be getting soaked too. We got a lot of street flooding here, especially under viaducts (underpasses to some of you lol) and the wind's been picking up :?

Sincerely hoping that gopher wood isn't required for you up there. And really hoping the home that we are trying to sell is still okay.

Doesn't sound good. Stay safe and good luck to you guys.

I must have been reading too fast and got two stories mixed up. Sorry for that red herring.

In any case, I hope everyone down there is okay. This is Scary Stuff.

I'm sure most people in Galveston and Houston would gladly switch places.

I am just north of St. Louis right now and we had the rain this morning from Ike. We must have had 3 or 4 inches in about 2 hours. The rivers are over full in many areas and random sections of corn fields are blown flat. Not being from here, the corn fields are the weirdest thing I have seen. Some parts of the field are fine and a random part is just blown down.

Perhaps there is some good from all this. Hats off to Mr. Zambrano. A no hitter!!! First one for the team since 1972!!!!

I may love the White Sox, but I also love the Cubbies.

One needs a positive when one has much to struggle with.

Good luck to everyone impacted by this weather...wherever we all are.

Congrats, I guess. :P

What about the White Sox? Any chance of a subway series?

Last time that was a possibility, Dennis appeared on some TV programs talking about it.

Barely, Minnesota is right behind them with only about 7 games or so left. At least us southsiders can say we saw our team win the World Series, Cubs fans have been waiting almost a century :)
