You are NUTS!!!!!
In the first decade of boycotting Styx Froy went about it all wrong.
With the help of Hilary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi ( not Zan), Alec Baldwin and other powerful democrats Froy's Styx boycott will pick up steam in it's second decade.
By 2015 they will be toast!!!

Well the Styx part is easy enough, but I am going to have a hard time riding my bike 50 miles round trip each day to my job.

But Froy if people boycott Styx and don't by their albums anymore, thats going to hurt your saviour's pocketbook as well!!
Don't you care what that might do about your saviour?

Styx aside....
I know it's not realistic to completely boycott gasoline, but I think Froy may be onto something here.........gas prices are plunging in part due to reduced demand for the product. the best way to stick it to OPEC and the other oil producing countries is to further curb demand ! If we as a country band together and do simple things like car pooling and advance trip planning/combining trips + turning to fuel efficient cars, it will continue downward pressure on prices !
If we all go back to the way things were before $4.00/gallon gas will be back before we know what it us !

Gas is going down because its BIGGEST and BADDEST customer is about to find its sources elsewhere.
P.S. Dont forget Barack's solution - Tire Guages All Around
P.P.S. - It's $ 2.43 per gallon here. Milk prices are still up- Lets all boycott Milk!!!

Its weird.. if there is a drop in gas prices due to reduced demand, then why are so many American Oil companies still developing and making billions of dollars of oil and gas revenue here in Western Canada?

HARDLY. Even if we "drill baby drill", it will be YEARS before we see a DROP of it and we will never lose our dependence on "foreign oil". It will NEVER EVER happen. We are too much in the Middle East's pockets, and they in ours for us to ever get away from them. It just won't happen.
Those that think it will are 'Fooling Yourself".
Just wanted to make sure I got some Styx content in there.
And McCain's a psycho, by the way. Another old fool in the White House. Just what we need.... ugh.
Look how he's handled his campaign. People seriously want THAT type of leadership? If so, then we deserve it.

No brywool I wrote gas is going down because it's biggest and baddest customer is looking ELSEWHERE for its SOURCES.
Sources means drilling, alternative fuels, wind, solar, hybids etc.
The minute WE started our public search prices dropped.
WAKE UP. It's our threat and our ability to tap into our own resources that is bringing the prices down.
When we dont purchase their products, their piece of shit countries suffer.
It all started with drill here, drill now and drill often. Baracks tire guage suggestion didnt do the trick in an effort to lower fuel costs.
Speaking of another old fool in the White House I am so glad the youthful Joe Biden who absolutley ripped his running mate during the primaries recently got timed running the 40 in 4.4. We need his youth & vigor.

It went down because the economy tanked not because some little old man and his hot running mate said "drill". To SAY we're going to drill is one thing, but until we do, why would oil companies lower their prices (to get us to stop entertaining the idea? I don't think so). The 'tire gage' deal is NOT his only solution, but if you've already made up your mind to vote for this senile bully who is completely out of touch with the realities of middle class Americans and just wants to use the "Bomb baby Bomb" approach, well I can't really change yer mind. But we need a new way of thinking. Not the same old crap that's been stuck to the dog's tail for years.
As far as solving our Auto problems- Rent and watch "Who Killed the Electric Car?" from Netflix. We had the solution to the whole car/gas thing. Watch the movie. It will SERIOUSLY piss you off. NOBODY wants to solve the energy problem. There's too much money in it. All this "Green Talk" is total BS.
Again, we will never be out of the Middle East's pocket. It won't happen in our lifetime, I guarantee it.

Rev. Wright... wow, just like McCain. When he really has NO plan, he'll start looking for things that don't even factor in. Next you'll be telling me Obama's an Arab like that little old Rush Lady, right?
As for Pelosi- I agree with ya there. Ineffective and didn't live up to her promises as most politicians don't. Obama, seems different to me for some reason. I could be wrong.
"Give everyone the American Dream" is much better than "Give the rich more money and put the middle class and poor on the street". I'd much rather live in the first version than the second, but I'm picking out a nice refrigerator box for my family and I to live in as I will bet that McCain will win because Americans are ready for another 4 years of the same policies.
How can ANYONE WITH A BRAIN vote for this guy after the last 8 years of what we've had? Throw ALL of them out.

I'm at the point where I'm actually hoping Obama wins so people can realize the abject failures his socialist-leaning policies will bring about in this country. Nobody was ever supposed to receive the "American Dream," or anything, on a platter, other than the opportunity to make the best of themselves. Equality of condition vs equality of opportunity? I'll take the latter, even if it means hard times might lie ahead for me.
I honestly am asking anyone leaning towards Obama to explain to me how leveling the playing field is good for the country? You remove the striving for betterment from the equation, well I might as well stop trying and sit here and drink Colt 45 all day on my porch... I'm not trying to insult any of you on here, I'm just honestly asking how you square this away in your minds... I just can't wrap my head around it.

Giving everyone the "American Dream" (as in home ownership) is what has our economy in the lovely mess that we now have.
Giving everyone the "American Dream" is also why I and many others in my profession are now on the unemployment rolls compounding the problem. My disposable income doesn't go to the lawn guy, the department store, the shoe store, the bookstore, the airlines, the rental cars, the restaurants, ticketmaster, or sadly CD Warehouse any longer as that income no longer exists.

The American Dream is why our decedents came to America. It's what is GOOD about America, not what's bad. How did that ideal get turned into something Monstrous? Because many abused a CORRUPTED system is why we're in the mess we're in now. That doesn't mean that it was a bad idea. It means that the system got corrupted and everybody stood by and watched. Now we've rewarded the Fu**ers that corrupted it by bailing them out. Shoulda NEVER happened. Your disposable income- I had a lot more of it under the Dems than the Reps. I know who I WON'T be voting for.

Who placed Christopher Cox in his position at the SEC?

I have no problem putting success in the reach of more people. I have a problem with penalizing people for paying their dues and for getting lucky. Income/wealth should NOT be re-distributed/"spread" around arbitrarily because some have it better than others. Yeah, it sucks, but in my estimation, successful countries need to give their people incentives to succeed more than their neighbor. Is it better to catch up with the Joneses or leave them in the dust? We're a culture of winners. The demonize the CEO/corporation/insurance company rhetoric is just as tired as hearing all the religious right nutjobs thinking they are going to turn this into Puritan America again.
As for socialism, well, when the candidate is talking about "spreading the wealth around" and has a voting record to the left of a guy who identifies HIMSELF as socialist... well I don't know what that says but it's not just a Rush buzzword.

A voting record as calibrated by the National Journal, which went so far as to label votes on non-partisan ethics reform as "liberal."
They also mathematically arrived at the conclusion that Kerry was the most liberal around his bid for the presidency in 2004.
Anyone detecting a pattern here?
Neither of these guys are hurting for corporate donors, and neither come remotely close to socialists.
As for "spreading the wealth around," that's what taxes do, Obama simply wants to repeal the ineffective Bush tax cuts..a fiscal baby step when a chasmic leap is truly called for.

Yep.....that Obama character gonna take us all down ! heres the best reasons not to vote for him.
#1 he'g got that guy William Ayers living in his basement rent free ! lets him stay so they can go palling around together much easier. I heard a rumor he gonna be named secretary of Defense when Obama elected so he gets easier access to the Pentagon with his explosives and all......
#2 He's a MUSLIM !!! if hes elected we'll all be forced to worship ALLAH in Mosques !!!!! Hes gonna hire Reverand Wright as Secretary of Religion ( Rev Wright is also secretly a Muslim .....the Christian minister thing is just a really good cover , ya know !
#3 his middle name is HUSSEIN ! thatt alone makes the man sinister and evil !
#4 He doesnt believe in trickle down economics....God ( or should that be Allah ? ) forbid he's actually going to give a tax break to the middle class directly ! we all know it works better to give all the tax breaks to the rich...after all, they are all so altruistic, and will devote their amassed fortunes exclusively to create jobs for the peasants, and would never just hoard the money while looking down on the rest of the people....just ask all our executive friends on Wall Street, they'll tell ya all about it !
#5 should anything bad happen to the president we ALL know Sarah Palin is much more qualified to run the country then that guy Joe Biden... I heard she even memorized the name of another Suprenme court ruling other than Roe v Wade !!
#6 speaking of the court, we all know Obama would be adding a bunch of baby killing loving judges to the Supreme court !!!
#7 I heard he's gonna kick all of the southern states out of the union cus of their behavior in the civil war.
#8 Joe the plumber will have to pay more taxes under Obama ! ( what????? he'd be paying LESS you say ? yew must be one of those treasonous liberals, cus Obama gonna RAISE taxes on everyone ! )
#9 I dont know if you noticed, but his skin's a funny color...........he aint one of us !
#10 he's gonna make CHANGES........like being chummy with other countries...it took us 8 years to piss off most of the rest of the world, and now he's going to ruin all that progress !!! hes also gonna completely mess up the P&L sheets of Haliburton and Brown & Root by bringing our boys home.....
11. He doesnt believe in letting people play russian roulette on the stock market with their social security funds....shoot ! doesnt he know the Dow Jones Industrials are all the way up to 8,000 !!!
dang it all , theres so many more good reasons, but my fingers are getting plum sore..........

Well, until a few weeks ago I had a really good job (oddly enough I also enjoyed it very much), I was paid what I felt was a very good wage and had good benefits. I own my own house and two cars, I put $$ every month into a savings account, and IRA and a 401k and still had plenty left over after all the rest of the bills. Left over money is disposable income and should be spent on new clothes, purses, shoes, CD's and concert tickets. Thus, the disposable income which no longer goes to retail, traveling, etc.

No offense taken!! No, the American Dream is not a bad thing.. it's the "giving" of it which has resulted in the economic issues that we now have. Just because you want a mortgage doesn't mean you should get one. This is the corruption that you speak of. Homeownership is not a bad idea, but it is a good idea that got out of hand. Yes, things have sucked and I'm not sure that a government bailout is the best thing (but remember, said bailout is
supposedly going to help some of these people keep their homes, homes that they couldn't afford to begin with), but this whole ball was rolling a lot longer than just the last 8 years. The relaxation of lending practices has been going on long before our present administration.

The way the market has been the past few years, how could ANYONE afford a home without all the "programs" out there? Not saying that peeps who can't afford it shouldn't have one, but the fact is, home prices (at least here) are ridiculously high, so not sure how anyone could afford it.

I'm not well-versed enough to comment definitively, but if you can't afford it, whatever your opinion is of the pricing, you simply shouldn't get a mortgage. That's why, as a McCain supporter, when he announced his Treasury mortgage buyback plan, I almost vomited. That's a horrible idea. Right and left-wing alike both need to stop awarding people for stiffing others. Regardless of the circumstances of one's not being able to pay their mortgage, they should not get a free pass. That's the obligation/risk you assume with a mortgage. No different than any other debt. I guess that's the mean old cold-hearted classical conservative in me.
