Where are they now?

In no particular order, just wondering where are they now? Some are log-in names, some are probably real names.

Paul Holt
Troy
Micky
Mick(e)y
Balin
Angie
Sparky
Jerri
Ellen
Beards
Doc
BritStyx
Styxophrenic

There's more but the names escape me at the moment. These are some people on the old PT bulletin board which I was blamed for its demise back in 99.

How did you get blamed for its demise?

I hope all is well.

This is kind of funny.... Anyway, when Dennis first departed ways with the band he issued a statement on his website that he could no longer post notes on the Paradise Theatre site. He was wanting to post an update on "While There's Still Time" being released as a single. I went to the BB and questioned the judgement as to why Dennis could not post his message on the site anymore. Remember, at the time all of us assumed this departure was temporary. Later that afternoon the bulletin board was permantly shut down. Some fans blamed me for its demise because I posted that message (which wasn't mean spirited at all, keep in mind this was almost 10 years ago now and I don't remember everything I posted but it was basically asking why Dennis could not promote the single on the website considering it was a Styx site, an official one at that).

And given that it was a released Styx single for a song of a release Styx album! They obviously weren't concerned at that point about plugging the album.

Interestingly, WTST is one of the few legitimate Styx sounding songs on that entire album (and there are maybe 3).

Holt's still around, albeit sparingly. He mostly hangs on the GB forum and occasionally, the "new" Styx Board, which used to be the "old new Styx board," which was once "Styx Board," which was a derivative of "Styxnet," which we all know was born after paradise Theatre.com BB was dismantled.

I see Ellen on Myspace, used to see Katie (Sparky), but she sorta bowed out of the social circle a couple of years ago, Beards is on Myspace, Doc (NO idea), Phil (Britstyx) Myspace, Jerri (I'm drawing a blank - is that Geri you mean?), Troy - Myspace - I think, Micky - still "see" her on Lynda's Lifeboard (a derivative of the old new Styx board, after the flaming wars got ugly), Balin is on Myspace occasionally, but very seldom. I head a rumor that he got a life, Angie - she's on Life Board, Phrenic - haven't seen him in ages.

*waving* I'm right here!!! I am on both myspace and facebook as is Mike(Balin), Shogun. Beards is on myspace. I talk to Mike often. I talk to Micky even more often, in fact I saw her quite a bit this fall at the MN Renn Fest.

Are you still a "former" DJ? After 14 years, I just got let go at my station. Two of us got axed becauses of budget cuts and 10 had to take paycuts. I got a part time gig at the competition. Trying to decide if its worth it to stay in the radio whirlwind.

I haven't talked to Troy in awhile. After he bowed out of sc.com and sold off most if not all of his collection, he really moved on. I think I'd be the same way; if push came to shove, I'd almost rather own none of it than keep some as a reminder of what was.

Not to go off topic too much, but "While There's Still Time" was a single? I take it CMC forced the band at that time to put it out, as I just can't imagine they would have been willing to do so on their own. Did Larry sing it live?lol

Yep, While There's Still Time was the second single. Witness was the 3rd, Number One 4th and Best New Face the 5th. So it isn't for lack of CMC trying.

Angie, still happily employed as a Blue Collar Man/Union Worker at a Paper Mill. The money is more than double what I made in radio and the time off is excellent (we work 12 hour shifts so we get a lot of off days). I wouldn't trade it for anything, the stress of radio management became unbearable.
